The toilet was dripping the whole night and the lights in the bathroom didn't work. Thankfully I had a torch with me to use for light.

Thorntree lodge is good value for money, clean and very comfortable. It's also quiet which is great to chill out.

The 2km gravel donga road is terrible. A low german sedan will get stuck on the road.

The kitchen needs to have more refrigerators, especially when there are other guests. The tray for the dishes on the sink is very dirty it is unhygienic. The condition of the rooms is excellent, was just disappointed because in the ad it said soundproof. I was in room 1 so when someone is in the kitchen you can hear everything. It would have been nice if there was another place to make a fire for the front guests.

I wish I had known it is an off-road drive to the accommodation. I had to drive in my Smart car, which is very low to the ground. Had a few cringe moments where I could hear rocks scrape the bottom of my vehicle. The road isn't scraped and definitely needs work.

Loved the accommodation itself. Very clean and comfortable stay. Perfect room size and place to put clothing away. All the facilities are at your disposal. Just bring a rechargeable light for loadshedding.

Communal kitchen and braai area

Loved the surroundings, rooms were very neat and clean, Riaan is very helpful and friendly. I found the communal kitchen, boma and braai area a bit inconvenient; luckily we were the only people using the facilities for the evening, I think it can be a bit uncomfortable having to share with other visitors.

To manage expectations for guests better, in case there is no power, like in my case. There is no backup power, no emergency light in the room. A lantern with no matches. Two gates couldn't work due to the lack of power, had to open myself, and it was raining. There should be some sort of power living in SA. There are lots of products on the market. And then, to top it all, the lady accused me of having an extra person in my room, which was not the case at all. I had to open the gates in the rain, and I had to close it. Was soaking wet and cold entering a pitch dark room

I do think that the bathroom needs a little table or a vanity to put a toiletry bag on, i found i had to use the window sill to keep my stuff on, but it wasn't bad.

Thorntree Lodge was a great stay and perfect for my needs for just one night. The room was very comfortable and clean. The area that it's situated in is very peaceful and i enjoyed meeting the dog that was walking around - she's really friendly and full of love.

The hosts were extremely racist. They treated myself and our guests with so much disrespect. The place was being policed by 2 Afrikaner men who had big vicious dogs that they let loose while our guests were outside. One of the guests got very badly injured and had to be transported to the hospital. They made us pay for the extra heads that we had at the venue and then almost immediately told everyone to leave at 03h00 without any transportation. The 2 racist men were very hostile and did not have any regard for our safety. We all had an extremely bad experience and did not like anything about the property.

Short little <5 min drive of gravel road is actually in good state, especially for a short car as I didn't experience issues. Perhaps could be different on rainy days from muds perspective hence a thought for "What didn't you like".

Your attitude and the extra lengths you take as Hosts to ensure Visitors are as comfortable, valuable, is testament to the beauty of the welcoming, quiet and peaceful place you have. Really enjoyed my overnight stay, better to come prepared from end next time. Ohh what a lovely welcoming dog in the yard, Caring Beast guess protective of the cute Horseys!!!
