Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We had a problem with the lady's attitude but we spoke because she didn't welcome us well instead the guy was very welcoming and helped us very patient with us and he treated us very well the lady must just learn to welcome people and inform them with her rules not ambush them and favor other race than other..…

I liked everything, comfortable beds, warm house clean and everything was working well. I would ask MrD to get the ironing board thou. Above all, the place is close to FNB Stadium so it's good you book in with Tlalekufuma bnb... if you need to be there.

There was no shower mat, or anything to hold on to while in the shower. No bedside lamp.
Tlelakufuma guest was a very pleasant surprise. We booked the property mainly because it was very close to the NASREC center, where we were attending a week-long exhibition. It was a ten minute drive, or less. Also a main consideration was the price. So, we weren't expecting a top notch place. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. We arrived right on time to find the owner/manager actually standing by the gate seemingly waiting for us to arrive. He opened the electric gate and the garage door where we had our own parking space for the duration of our stay. We were given a remote for the electric gate, so we were free to enter or exit at any time without requiring assistance. The level of cleanliness was excellent. This applies to the front lounge area, the kitchen area, and to our room. In our room, the bed appeared to be new and was very comfortable. The TV worked well with a reasonable selection of channels to watch including all the SABC and eTV channels as well as 2 movie channels and France 24 as a 24 hour news channel. The air-con seemed to work fine, although due to the cool weather we had no need for it. The shower was enormous with one of those giant shower heads with good pressure and plenty of hot water. My only negative comment would be that there was no handle, or anything to grip onto in the shower, or a rubber shower mat which for me at 68 years are useful things to have. The room was quite small so there was no space for a desk. There was a bedside table on one side, which was enough, but no bedside light or lamp. The host was very friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. Overall, I can say that we will certainly be back again next time we are in that Southern part of Johannesburg.

The TV didn’t work.
The facilities were clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the location was convenient and secure. We had a great experience staying here.

small shower, but we understand and were flexible in that regard.
I was happy with the location, because it was close to nasrec, however I was sure I specifically chose room with 2 single beds, and had to stay in a room with x1 double bed and my buddy and I had to share the bed, given that we literally just stayed to sleep due to the fact we were attending the expo at nasrec, we had to make it work to share the bed. The staff was friendly, the place is clean (very small) but we made that work as well. I'll stay there again next year, I'll just confirm the room next time before we leave.

The blind in the bedroom needs to be replaced, it is a little broken and the light shines through from the security light next door. Unfortunately the toilet was not flushed when I arrrived.

Nothing I didn't like
I booked Tlelakufuma Guest house when came joburg to watch Soweto derby match I liked the room itself, it got everything a person might need, the fridge is big, TV screen and the shower. The property is clean, great self catering facilities and service provider is very friendly and helpful. We realy enjoyed our stay. Surely come back again

Very little. It is a room in a house, Because I was the only guest there I essentually had the common dining/sitting and kitchen area to myself.
The room was well supplied with storage was, The bed was super comfortable and the shets were clean and crisp. The airconditioning was very effective - I had it on heat because it is midwinter in Joburg right now. The wifi was strong and reliable, I was particpating in a conference in Soweto thatr required me to attend early moring and eveining sessions, The peoperty was 30 minutes drive away and gave me the assurance of accessible rest in between and two quiet nights, I was also less that 25 minutes away from a second conference venue in Joburg city. I live in Randburg but feel this was the best solution for me, The pricing is very reasonable and the proprietors are extremely attentive and readily available and I felt safe at all times.
