South AfricaOur bed did not have a flat sheet we were sleeping with only a fitted sheet & a duvet which was very uncomfortable. There are no extra blankets provided and the place is cold at night. Though a bag of fire wood was provided for the fireplace, we were told that there is more fire wood should we need more. On our second night we requested for two bags of wood and to our surprise on checking out we were charged R80 for the two bags of wood and yet we were not informed that we were going to be charged for it. You pay for accommodation and then pay to warm up your room. And that area is very cold. I find it very unfair of them to their guests.
Breakfast was not what I excepted, dinner was 10/10. The staff 10/10 keep up the good work. Emma & Anna at the Spa met our expectations thank you Ladies you were awesome. David our waiter oh what a good human being.

The couple next to us yelling and screaming,slamming doors into the early hours of morning...we literally heard everything and they did not stop!! No sound proof unfortunately when u have people visiting your premises with no respect for other peolple!!
The Highlander Hotel staff was excellent....Food excellent!!! Very welcoming!

South AfricaThe bed wasn't the most comfortable - very bouncy mattress. The intermittent fire alarm light was also very disruptive for someone who is light sensitive, but I just used my eye mask to get a good night sleep. There were also 2 cats fighting late at night on the property. I eventually I went out and sprayed them with a water bottle - that ceased the fight. Also being so close to the parking, guests that arrived later were very noisy and weren't respectful of guests sleeping. There could also have been a fan in the room as it was quite warm that night - luckily for us, we had a fan packed for our holiday in Hoedspruit that we just came from, so we used that and it at least provided a reprieve from the heat.
The accommodation was very central and easily accessible to the main town. Also, it was great that we were able to get a booking at the last minute considering it was a very busy weekend in Dullstroom that weekend (I think there was a trail run/MTB race on). It was perfect for what we needed for a 1 night overnight stay before our return home from our holiday. The staff were very pleasant and friendly.

Location was good for us as we are happy to walk so could easily walk down to shops /restaurants. Views for hotel spectacular. There was major interior work going on in the foyer one our first day and we were given breakfast free. WE enjoyed two fabulous dinners in the gorgeous dining room...food was amazing and both the chef and owner spoiled us! All the staff were so helpful aand couldnt do enough to make our stay so memorable.
