We arrived after 3 days of heavy rain and our vehicle battled to negotiate the very muddy sand road. We used Google maps which took us out of our way. We should have followed the directions supplied by the property.

The surrounding property is excellently maintained. The chalet provided all the necessities. The braai area overlooked the river. It has a very strong hunting theme and would suit groups that enjoy game hunting.

The kitchen was quite small and might be better equipped to allow guests to cook inside the chalet. There was just one electric pan available

An incredible place! Very nice and comfortable chalet. We enjoyed the braai available just outside the chalet. We had the chance to see lots of animals during our stay.

The road out could have been better, especially after the rain

would recommend a bigger fridge/freezer. a fan in both the loft and bottom room. and a 2 plate stovetop and small oven. but overall it was a great stay.

Hostess and staff was super friendly and helpful with EVERYTHING. Nice view of the river and could relax. Loved every minute of our stay there. well done Weltevreden. especially Jo. you were just awesome.

Really comfortable rooms and a great game drive. Affordable too. Wynand and Jo were excellent hosts! I know some people comment on accessibility, however I found the road easily manageable. The game drive and views from the hill were great!

Excellent introduction to South Africa on my first night after leaving Johannesburg airport.by car en route towards Cape Town. Thanks to Jo for showing me around this riverside property. Loved the cheetahs and hyenas and saw a giraffe on my way out. The accommodation was impressive. Don't forget to bring your own provisions, charcoal, matches etc.

This is a small and intimate lodge. The surroundings are beautiful and the facilities are great. It is so peaceful and at night you can hear the hyenas and the lions. The staff are always friendly and cannot do enough for you. We went on a game drive which was by far the best we’ve had at a game reserve. I would stress that if you are prone to hayfever, take some antihistamines before your game drive! The reserve have some dogs, all friendly. The collie was with us all the time, such a good boy! You can get to a viewing deck overlooking the river which is lovely and the stars from there at night are great. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we hope to return in the future. Perfect!
