The fact that there were trout in the dams was debatable. Have been fishing for over 40 years I did not see one rise.

Both the room and the restaurant are cold in winter. There is an electrical heater in the room, but it is small and not strong enough to warm the room adequately. The fires in the restaurant are nice but cannot warm the entire area.

We had the loveliest guide take us on a game drive. We did notice that he didn't have proper warm clothes for the weather - it would be a wonderful thing for the lodge to provide staff with clothes (especially a thick jacket or coat) with their emblem on it, as it presents the lodge in a good light (and is free advertising) and ensures there staff are properly comfortable and warm.

We loved this beautiful lodge. We stayed in the English Cottage which was big and had incredible views. We loved all the fireplaces as it was bitterly cold when we stayed there and they kept us warm and cosy. We also booked meals and a massage ahead of time and received good service.

The property is fantastic, the rooms are modern and super warm to escape the winter chill. The food is fantastic (Chef Denzel knows his way around a kitchen) and the portions are amazing.

There was a definite issue with hot water- in fact the couple in no 2 only had hot water for 1 shower. We in 1 battled to get the right levels but eventually came right- you really need to have hot water on such a cold weekend

On our arrival we were very impressed about the neatness of the venue. The view was stunning, beautiful game and birdlife. Also liked the horses and cattle, took some amazing photos. The staff were very helpful and friendly, 10/10 for sure. The food was delicious and great value for money. Our room was magnifisent, far more than we expected. We went on a 2 hour game drive and saw even more of the beautiful landscape and wildlife. Our hosts were very professional and went out of their way to make our stay one to remember.

Not being able to drive around and explore ourselves. Animals are extremely scared of vehicles and scatter when you do a game drive because they are hunted from the game lodge vehicles. A small fridge in the room would have been appreciated.

Peace and quiet and dark. Our room was stunning. We thought we'd miss the TV but we didn't. Very comfortable bed and a large bath. My boyfriend loved the shower. Order off the spa menu for vegetarian meal options. The sunset game drive and picnic were stunning. The massage was lovely.

The lounge area view is hampered by balcony wall. Rooms do not have fridges which was tough with a baby. Dams had not been stocked and we were there for fishing. They should warn guests. Horse riding needs to be added to the activities list in booking.com as we didnt know it was offered.

Staff were very helpful and accommodating with our small kids. Room was nice size. Meals were delicious and a lovely addition to the lodge.

Beautiful well maintained setting. The room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The only “complaint” is that there are no fridges in the rooms. I wish we had known that in advance so I’m putting it here.

Walking on wet grass to and from the car to the rooms.

We checked in very late; arriving from Johannesburg around 23:00 and they were still accommodating. The dining area and breakfast was very good! The morning sunrise was beautiful.
