Lighting in the bedroom is a bit difficult.

A rare chance to bask in the changing light of the karoo, the birds, the bossies and the baboon chorus in the distance. Spacious, comfortable, quirky, handsome and welcoming. We loved it.

Just the tranquility and peacefulness is to die for. To get away from the city this the perfect place to be. We couldn't ask for more. Everything available for your comfortable stay.

I will definitely book for longer next time.

Having travelled extensively throughout the world, this little Klein Karoo gem has stolen my heart. What a find! It was certainly the winter breakaway I needed, with its roaring fireplace, gas heater and super cosy bedding, I was completely cocooned through the coldest of nights – only to wake up with the best of mother nature right on my doorstep – the bird life as impressive as the night sky. Ashley and Andre are the kindest of hosts, being supremely knowledgeable of the beautiful area they live in. The two cottages are completely private, but it was lovely to know that my hosts were available on WhatsApp if I needed their help in any way. If only I could keep this place all to myself, but I can’t keep a secret this good. You will not be disappointed. I will be back.

This place is an absolute gem. The hospitality of Ashley and Andre is out of this world. The farm is beautifully nested in an area that feels remote, which makes it a wonderful place to truly experience the little Karoo. The cottage is incredibly well-decorated, which gives you the impression of being in an old South African farm from a century ago. It is really a great experience to stay here. My mother was absolutely delighted by our stay here. Thank you Andre and Ashley for this wonderful place.

Everything was perfect

This was one of the most amazing stays EVER! This is the heart of the Karoo, and Ashley and Andre go out of their way to make your stay memorable. The cottage is so comfortable and spacious. We were in the splash pool every day and loved watching the birds, resident tortoise and starry nights. Total relaxation, and that stoep is pure perfection!

Beautiful location deep in the Karoo with lots of birdlife. The owners are very welcoming and helpful, with really good communication before and during our stay. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and well equipped with bbq facilities and firewood. The nearby private reserve is worth a visit.

That I hadn't booked for longer.

I stayed at Wolverfontein towards the end of my 3 week trip to South Africa. I wish I had discovered this place sooner and spent more time there. The cottage is beautifully decorated and is better than the pictures. The wifi was prefect for a zoom call with my family. I will definitely book for longer when I return to South Africa.

Absolutely Nothing.

The cottage is beautifully decorated in true Karoo fashion that does it's name of d'Waenhuis justice. You can see the attention to detail. There was a lovely fireplace in the open plan lounge/dining/kitchen and a free crate of firewood was supplied every night. A gas heater was in the bedroom with goose down duvet and warm blankets. It was the perfect mid-winter getaway. I can't wait to return in summer to experience the private plunge pool. The wifi was excellent for the remote location and there is even a work desk in the bedroom which would make longer working getaways ideal. Can't wait to return.
