Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineOne of the most famous places to stay in Livingstone. Everything is well organized, the staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the facilities are quite simple, also there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room, but the mosquito net helps.

United KingdomThe overall experience was passable but could be improved with more attention to detail in cleanliness and comfort. A little extra effort in guest service and room upkeep would make a big difference.
I booked this stay for a friend. The location is good and convenient for exploring Livingstone, and the pool area offers a pleasant place to relax.

United StatesThe load shedding meant that we lost power on our last day, as we were packing up to checkout. Not really something the hotel can control though and to their credit, they warned us in advance about this possibility.
A hidden gem! At least for us. From the street, it doesn't look like much. But once you step inside the gate, the property is wonderful! Truly a vibrant and comfortable place to stay. The staff were a joy to interact with and were exceedingly helpful and cheerful for the entirety of our stay. Even though we didn't buy any, the "guns for sale" sign was a BIG plus in my book!

CanadaNothing really to complain about. Power was intermittent, but that's not the property's fault.
Very central location, walkable to most things of interest in Livingstone (shops right across the street, museum just 5-10 walk up the street, and out of town transport just beyond that). Courtyard setting cuts out most of the traffic noise even though right next to busy street.

United KingdomThe only two very small criticisms would be get better coffee and you do get a lot of noise early hours from outside the property (something you can’t control) it didnt bother me I slept regardless but some of the group did struggle (just take ear plugs incase) x
The staff were so helpful and genuinely friendly, the breakie was more than substantial and pizzas throughout the day, the rooms were clean and location was spot on

ChinaThe rates for the airport shuttle and daily activities were overpriced in most cases.i guess it would be fine if you want to save a bit of time or energy to call for a taxi yourself. Also, the room can be very cold during the night, and the AC didn't come with the heating option. Personally, the bed was not so comfy.
The location is very convenient and easy to go around with a supermarket and restaurants. The small but nice cafeteria inside the lodge serves good quality food. The WiFi worked most of the time, and enjoyed my time relaxing in the garden.

United KingdomIt would have been lovely to have been told about the pancakes before we arrived so we could order some on our first day. We never got to try them. The lovely lady who met us said we would be able to get some but we were told because we hadn't pre ordered them we couldn't have them.
It was in amongst the local shops however once through the facade it was like entering an oasis. Extremely well kept gardens, it was much larger than we thought...lots of rooms. Some of the larger ones looked lovely. Ours suited us, gave us what we needed and at an affordable price. The pizzas were amazing...best I have had!! Friendly staff.

NetherlandsOnly downside is that the locals know tourists stay here. So there are guys outside and sometimes kids that try to sell you things or harass you. Not a fault of the hotel though, they are great and have security.
Probably one of the best places to stay in Livingstone. It is in the middle of town with a shopping center just across the street. The place feels like a calm oasis with a pool, bar and nice garden. Rooms are comfy and clean. Staff is friendly as well. They have their own pizza oven and make pancakes every day.

Finland- The room was a bit cold. There could have been a luggage rack in the room. - This might sound like a small thing but for me it matters. When arriving at any hotel, it’s always great to meet a staff member who actually tells me about the hotel policy, and when leaving, it’s nice to hear the words ”Welcome again”. Nothing too much. However, this did not happen.
- The location was brilliant. - The trips were organized very well! - I stayed in the budget room that was big enough for one person. - I loved to have porridge for breakfast.

The staff were wonderful!!! From Joy at the front desk, Miriam booking excursions Mike at the bar, Gladys and Brian cooking... They were all wonderful. We arrived has strangers and by the time we left we felt we were saying goodbye to friends. The breakfasts were great and the pizzas were probably the best I've tasted in southern Africa.
