Comfortable Accommodations: Onsen Guest House Tsutaya in Hakone offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and mountain views. Only some rooms include a balcony, tatami floors, and free toiletries. Possibly the best hostel I have ever stayed - though that word doesn’t do it justice! Onsen and all common spaces were beautiful, the kitchen was the best appointed I’ve ever seen with everything from cooking sake to coffee beans and grinders, staff were helpful. It’s a bit out of the way of things but that makes for a really peaceful atmosphere.

Our family greatly appreciated the warm, sincere and caring staff of the hotel. Our kids loved the dear old lady “auntie Chika” so much, and missed her so much after the trip. And I should never forget to mention the great breakfast customized to everyone's taste.

From the best, bountiful dinners & breakfasts, through the onsen on your private terrace, incredible coziness and really nice spa area with baths & sauna. At the ryokan, all rooms include a flat-screen TV, fridge and wardrobe. Certain rooms feature in-room hot spring bath, while some rooms offer a kitchen with a microwave. Everything was just perfect. We stayed one night with breakfast, in the apartment with private onsen. Would definitely come back and stay longer. The apartment is in very convenient location- close to all the attractions. The staff and the owner are very friendly, kind and helpful. Owner spoke very good English and gave us many tips on what to do and where to go. Made us feel very welcoming. Breakfast traditional Japanese. Food was very delicious.

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. The property boasts views of Tonomine, Myojogatake and Mount Asama. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. We have visited 3 times and it always is a wonderful treat. Great baths, great breakfast, lovely room. Warm recommendation for couples.

Air-conditioned rooms feature a tatami (woven-straw) floor, on which traditional futon bedding is spread to sleep in. Amenities include an LCD TV, fridge, a safe and yukata robes. All rooms have a private toilet and washbasin, while bathroom facilities are shared. Green tea sets with snacks are provided. It was a superb experience, exceeding any of our expectations. The room offered a sight into a traditional Japanese room, and it was equipped with kimono and other amenities to further make this experience more memorable. I would really recommend the dinner, with a lot of tasty, traditional Japanese dishes. The onsen was another strong point, perfect for taking a few relaxing hours amidst the crazy amount of walks of the last days. Also, the quality of service is something that stood out.

Main Dining Room "The Fujiya" serves French cuisine in an elegant space. Restaurant Cascade offers Western dishes, while Kikka-so serves traditional Japanese kaiseki dinners. A bar, lounge and bakery are available. The hotel went beyond our expectations. Everything was excellent from the moment we arrived to when we checked-out. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and professional, the onsen area is beautiful and has a view over the mountains surrounding the hotel. For breakfast, we opted for the traditional Japanese restaurant and everything was perfect, form the food to the ambience and the location.

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath.

Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu is situated a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Subway Station, near Nakamise-dori Street and Senso-ji Temple. Asakusa Subway Station provides direct access to Ueno, Shibuya and Ginza areas, and also to the Narita and Haneda international airports. Everything was great, amazing hospitality, perfect location. Very clean
