Located in Matsushima, 10 km from Shiogama Shrine, Matsushima Koumura features accommodation with a hot tub and a public bath. Loved our time at Matsushima Koumura! The staff were so lovely and the room was very nice. The Onsen was amazing too! The owners even drove us to the train station after we checked out!

This is the loveliest ryokan with incredibly hospitable and genuine owners. The food was beautiful. We felt very welcome and very lucky to stay there.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights for Drift Matsuri in November. We were blown away by how big our room was. The staff were so friendly, even if they didn't speak a lot of English, but made the effort to help you where they could. The room was clean and comfortable. Loved waking up to the view of the mountains in the distance.

Yuze Hotel has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kazuno, 38 km from Appi Kogen Ski Resort. This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and luggage storage space. The dinner was amazing - there was a station where the staff prepares a small dish on the spot for you. The onsen was eye-opening to say the least. It is located beside a stream / forest, and it was refreshing to soak in the onsen while listening to the stream flow by.

Set in Zao Onsen in the Yamagata region, Takasagoya Ryokan features accommodation with access to a public bath. The 3-star ryokan is 200 metres from Zao Onsen Ski Resort. The owners/staff are extremely kind and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. They allowed me to check in early and even let me use the onsen in the afternoon after checkout.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. Where to begin? The room was excellent in size and had a nice feeling to it. The onsen was close by. The staff was so kind and service minded. The whole experience with dinner and breakfast was exceptional, especially the staff member whom served us with excellent English. Just the whole experience was quite wonderful.

7.6 km from Nyuto Hot Spring in Senboku, Aoni Sanso features accommodation with access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. It had a private onsen (needs to book with front desk and cost a 150 yen onsen tax) which is quite rare for hotel with this price range. The service and food was also great

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. fantastic dinner and breakfast. friendly staff, nice onsen and front desk able to communicate in English.
