Beautiful pool area. Lovely rooms and balcony. We moved from marina sun to marina beach and glad we did as there would be a longer walk from there to the beach area. The beds were super comfortable. Really interesting incentive to reduce the amount of housekeeping. If you don’t need housekeeping some of the days of your stay you get a free drink. Breakfast was possibly the best brekkie I’ve ever had in a hotel. Super close to the beach and the main road in Praia da rocha ( bar the hills and steps) and super close to the beach club.
They also provided us with a cot for our baby.
The sunny Hotel Alcaide is located just 200 metres from Praia do Vau. The quiet hotel has green surroundings and features an outdoor swimming pool, with sun loungers.

The location for the race circuit was perfect. Nice neighborhood and fairly quiet. Be careful of stray dogs or dogs in other properties if walking around. Security of the gates is good, however the windows (most) don't lock. The kitchen utensils are basic and the kitchen itself. The shower heads are loose and hard to control. Lighting outside wasn't working and bbq was basic. There is a bus stop at the end of the road about 200 mtrs.

The beach was great and there were plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. There is a bus from the beach area to the central square but then you have to walk a short way to the train station. Having a train from the beach to the train station would be excellent.

Beautiful place with beautiful people and wonderful nightlife and beaches all in all, just be weary of the local drug dealers on the main strip they are highly irritating and can be pushy if you don’t interact with them they leave you alone

As a golfer this is the perfect spot.
As a golfer this is the perfect spot. Many many quality options with 20-30 minutes. I still think it's the best location when traveling with a family. The beach is awesome and the food choices are excellent. Great access to sea tours and water taxi to Ferragudo from the marina. There's so much to do. I would recommend renting a car so you can visit numerous surrounding towns.

Great location of the resort.
Great location of the resort. Too far from the malls and other destinations that we would've want to visit. We ate at the the restaurant at the resort and also in town. Also the restaurants on the beach.
Nice hotel for one night stop over to watch Tour of Algarve. Easy walk from the train station in an area that felt nice and safe (I am a solo female traveller) Room was good, bed comfy, bathroom all good. Self selection breakfast had everything I needed. Staff were friendly and stored my bag during the day and I collected it later in the afternoon to catch the bus to my next destination. Couldn't have gone better. Nice reception staff even let me charge my phone in the lobby after I picked up my bag. Would stay again
This was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. We had the ocean suite, which was perfect. Huge comfy bed, 2 tv's, exceptionally clean and well equipped and the view from the balcony was amazing, especially at sunset.
I found the breakfast to be really good, buffet style with lots of options. Easily make yourself the best full English to suit your preference! The location is perfect, only 2 mins walk to the beach, and 2 mins walk to the bars. Plenty of restaurants all around.
Exceptional hotel superb food service and rooms great location. Great food with good choice.
Have stayed many times before, on this stay it was my birthday . I had not mentioned this, in the morning a letter from all the staff and hotel wishing me Happy Birthday had been posted underneath my door. To me this takes service to another level.
This was a lovely and appreciated gesture.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
We both look forward to staying there in the future. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Breakfast exceeds expextations, there is everything you can think of, including healthy food.
Balcon view was on the garden with birds and even a rabbit and a sea - perfect.
Staff very friendly and willing to help.
Room was spacious, we had a bath and a kitchen with all facilities to cook comfortably.
Indoor pool is great for windy weather. You need a shower cap to use it, but staff can provide it.
We enjoyed our stay fully, very beautiful place and perfect hotel!
- Great location right on the beach with direct access and pretty beach views.
- The breakfast buffet was pretty good, with nice fruit and some nuts (although walnuts were poor quality and most likely not Portuguese [Portugal produces excellent walnuts, so a much better source], and the almonds we sweetened flakes - plain whole Portuguese almonds are tastier and healthier.
- Staff were friendly and mostly helpful.
Great location and bedroom/ balcony size. The bathroom was pretty and tidy. Even though there's a disco right in front of the hotel, we didn't have any problems to sleep. Air conditioner worked. The location is prolly one of the best, in the heart of the touristic street with bars, restaurants, just few meters from the beach. The reception staff was very welcoming and overall, the experience was good.
The gentleman who took care of us was outstanding. Very helpful at check in and seemed to care about our stay. He also did breakfast in the morning which was perfect and delicious. He was the best part of our stay. Beds were comfy. Location was a quick walk to the water and many of the diversions of Praia da Rocha. Parking for a small fee was definitely welcome. A great value due to time of year.
the hotel is quite new, room is clean, room cleaning service is good, the hotel is close to the beaches and very quiet, have sea view in the room. restaurants not far away from the hotel. The weather is a bit cold in early june so I did not use the swimming pool, bit it looks clean and there is a bar next to the pool. price quite reasonable for a 4 star hotel having sea view.
Super nice and friendly host, very clean house and room all available facilties were in very good conditions. Close to many restaurants around the area 30mins walk to the beach which i did every day to enjoy the site and taxi is about €3 less than 10mins. The best guest house i have been so far in all holidays i have taken, I totally recommend. Top marks.
Very nice hotel, excellent location. Best breakfast we had in Portugal. Lots of variety. Friendly staff. Parking only 10 euro/day. Clean hotel with nice, modern design, walking distance to beach and many restaurants. Small market close by. Room had small kitchen.
Location was great, just a minute or so from the beach, and at one end of Praia Do Rocha strip. Very easy to find and convenient for the Praia do Rocha area. Probably one of the best showers I've had in any Portimao stay in either of the two bathrooms.
Amazing place and if we were would get a bit more sunier days, this Villa has everything to enjoy the stay in Portugal.
Included breakfast was great deal. Allowed us to enjoy time even more.
Bed was made every day. Clean towels every day.
Everything is Amazing, love this hotel!! I was here last year as well, close to the beach and the rooms are so lovely and comfortable. Breakfast is the best ever and tasty. I will come back here again.
Very nice hotel, pool and the view at the Marina was amazing. Breakfast was very good as well. Not sure about the kitchenette in a 4 star hotel but it came in handy. Overall a great experience.
Nice owner, awesome location in the downtown of Portimao. We had our private bathroom. Everything was clean, terrace was really nice. Tip, behind the corner there s a nice food buffet.
Beautiful, very Morden and great location to the beach and lots of restaurants, If you looking to attend Afro-Nation Carnival in July this is the best hotel to stay
This is probably one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in. The showers were hotel standard. Pool was nice as well! Staff was friendly. Highly recommend.
