We love Galveston. We stayed down in the quiet area this time. It was so nice to have the beach to ourselves. We were able to walk to Jimmy's on the Pier. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food....try to red snapper. Oh so delicious. After you eat you can walk out on the pier and hang out.
We've eaten at The Spot. Sit outside to eat and drink and watch the waves roll in.
We also found the food at Float Pool and Patio Bar to be excellent and very affordable. We were there on a Thursday afternoon for the live music from 4-7 pm.
We enjoyed 23rd Street Station Piano Bar. The music was fun and the drinks were cheap. Great for our wallet.
Lots of fun things to do in Galveston.

If you're looking for cruise ship parking and are considering using the Scottish Inns at 928 Ferry Rd, DON'T. Not only is the hotel a #^%# hole, your vehicle is not safe in their parking lot. My vehicle was vandalized while we were on our cruise. We parked where the Scottish Inn person told us to. If you have a problem, they won't call you back. Terrible service!!

Conveniently accessible but DIRTY beaches.
Conveniently accessible but DIRTY beaches. Tons of mosquitos after rain that were absolutely savage. Great people and architecture. Had it's ups and downs. Easy to get around town. Partner loved the pleasure pier rides.

Galveston was beautiful and interesting.
Galveston was beautiful and interesting. Boat tours for dolphin watching and sunset tour were amazing (except both tours were cut short). Lots of great places to dine. Museums were absolutely amazing. Traveling was easy to all the places we wanted to see. The ferry to other islands is an adventure you must see. Be sure when you book a hotel that you don't get one that has hidden fees like the Clarion.

I took my grandkids down so they could go on a cruise. Stayed 1 night but it was wonderful, except for the weather. Too windy & rainy, but we were able to get out & walk a little. The grandkids walked along the beach & gathered sea shells.

The apt really worked with me and my flights so which I am grateful and will consider for my May 7, 2025 appt and would like to get discount for repeat visit!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to try seafood next year, maybe Katy's.
We travel to Galveston several times a year, and usually stay at the BWP, since it's great price for value (even though prices went up quite a bit, but that's the case everywhere thanks to LGB). The hotel offers a good continental breakfast, has a well kept hot tub, that is actually hot and has working jets. Both queen and king rooms are very spacious, have wooden floors, cozy beds, balcony with ocean view right on the seawall. The staff is awesome, especially Canyon at the front desk is also one of the reasons for us to come back!
i loved the location of this hotel! you are maybe 2 minutes from the beach, all you have to do is cross the busy street with no crosswalk 😅 every room has a partial view with balcony, which is exactly what we were looking for. but it was pretty old, which is the only drawback for me. the room was dark, but comfy. feels like the 80s. breakfast was ok, eggs, biscuits and gravy, oat milk waffle maker and drinks cereal. I would def come back for a cheap, and lovely getaway. everything was clean, and the staff was great.
We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly and we wanted a cheap short getaway to see how our new puppy handles hotels before we planned a longer vacation with her. We read previous reviews so we weren’t expecting the Ritz. We rented the King Suite and it was spacious and reasonably clean except for a dirty towel left behind on the back of the door. It is right across the street from the beach , with a convenient traffic light and stairs down. We didn’t use the pool but it looked clean. Breakfast was ok.
Recent and tasteful restoration of a Victorian era house.
A walk round the block took in some delightful Galveston architecture.
Close enough to the beach and some good dining.
As visitors from overseas, we loved the Gumbo Diner for delicious, simple, Southern cooking.
Perfect for families with young kids.
Our 6 year old grandson really loved the custom-built bunk beds and the slide in the rear garden.
Spotlessly clean and with all the facilities one could wish for. .
We loved it. Thank you, Robin.
We loved the big pool and hot tub, and the cute bar next to it. We travelled with kids, and they loved exploring it and jumping in. Hotel is right across the street from the beach and near to restaurants. The breakfast was characterful, and there was a nice outside place to sit in to eat, next to some outdoor games. The room is a bit dated, but was plenty for what we wanted, and it was nice we could fit 6 of us in the room. The ocean view rooms overlook the pool.
The room has a stained carpet, cacroach in the bathroom( I have a video) and it was advertised that the facility has a heated pool , the heater was broken and the kids couldn’t swim cause it was chilly that night, spoke with the manager to get at least a discount for false information or I’ll not stay the second night, his answer was , ok you can leave . It was Friday and couldn’t find any other hotel room anywhere else
Tammy is amazing. She made us feel comfortable and I loved 🥰 her attitude in facts I wanted to take her back home with us. Tammy gave us so much history on The Mansion and Galveston. Breakfast also was very good. Also very nice to be able to leave vehicle parked for a cruise. They will take you to your cruise drop off. A fantastic experience would recommend this establishment.
Location was amazing! It is located right across from the beach. Staff was very friendly, bed was comfy, pool was great and blocked the wind, breakfast was tasty! The price I paid for my room was spectacular for a hotel of this caliber. I would recommend to anyone staying in Galveston - especially those who want a special experience but on a budget!
This is a reasonably priced comfortable & quiet
hotel just steps to the beach.
There was ample parking available.
The hotel reception staff is professional and
friendly. My room was clean and spacious.
I would definitely stay here again when visiting
Galveston.
Loved the location. Walking distance to Walmart and great barbeque food . The room was amazing. Comfortable beds and pillows. Cleanliness was definitely no issue. Great breakfast to top it off. I highly recommend this hotel when you're visiting Galveston.
We stay at this hotel every time we go to Galveston. Mainly because they have an indoor pool. It is also in a good location, they always try to accomodate anything I ask. Rooms are roomy and clean. Good breakfast too.
We had a lovely breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Enjoyed the hotel lobby as well as the bar (had drinks the night we arrived). Perfect location as it was located near the wedding we were attending.
Gaido’s was great. It’s an older hotel with charm and character, but is kept clean and updated. The staff were really helpful and kind. The location right on the beach was perfect.
Excellent hotel, depending on the room its possible to have a seaview, large, clean, decent wifi and shower. Staff very nice, its a good choice for Galveston!
