Argo Apartments, hotel in Wollongong

Argo Apartments is located in Wollongong, within 8.2 km of Nan Tien Temple and 22 km of Historical Aircraft Restoration Society Museum.

This was our 4th stay here at the Argo. Everything at the apartments is excellent, even the car park is clean! The staff are always super friendly and helpful. The staff called and let us know the room was ready early if we needed it and on arrival we were given a complementary ocean view room. The location is perfect, 5 min walk to restaurants, shopping and the beach. We will only ever stay here when we come to Wollongong!

I love this city and have lived here (in West Wollongong) for 6 years. To stay in the city itself after just selling my house, has been a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the endless city, restaurants, bars etc. alongside walk easily to my daily North Wollongong esplanade walk. If you have never been to Wollongong, please know that it’s worth it and why I have always wanted to live here and intend to continue to do so. A beautiful coastal city with diverse and beautiful people to match.

The weather wasn't good to us, poured with rain for 4 days, but we did a lot of sightseeing aswell. There was a great place to eat for breakfast which was one block over from the apartment and a 5min walk called Bucks Cafe. The owners were lovely and the food soooo good! The Imperial Hotel in Clifton, we went there for lunch, very impressive. Went down to Kiama, very pretty coastal town and viewed an amazing blow hole . Trains were easy to catch. We hired a car, which was really good, but we caught a train easy enough back to Sydney CBD. It would have been lovely to walk the beaches, but the weather didn't permit it. A few good Op shops in the area if you are into that, aswell.

Wollongong has a some amazing restaurants for dinners i.e. Kneading Ruby, fantastic bars such as Hummbar, has a large shopping centre, lots of parking and close proximity to local beaches and playground for the kids.

Area I stayed in was OK.

Area I stayed in was OK. Couldn't find a big restaurant / bar area. Scenic views included a great view of chemical plant and refinery. Look in estate agent windows and could not see why people are paying $4M to be that close to them. Steamers nice, but don't pay their prices for a steak. Marble&grain 300m away-better quality&price.

We were there for a hockey tournament so we didn't get to see much of Wollongong. Also there was an extreme weather event while we were there so we couldn't get down to the waterfront in the time we had available between games.

Yes, I would recommend Wollongong for the experience: the streets are filled with homeless persons at night and roaring with street cars. Nonetheless, I was not subjected to any acts of violence or intimidation. It appears that everyone is minding their own business. Skydiving with a nearby company provided me with an unforgettable experience amidst the beautiful coastline of Wollongong and its beaches. The beaches in Wollongong are immaculate and an excellent location to swim. Although the food is ordinary, it is well worth the time to dine at one of the many waterfront restaurants. For visitors in their 20s, Friday and Saturday night seem to have a pretty good nightlife. If you find yourself near Fever Night Club, chances are that you will have people approach your for drugs or of purchasing of drugs. Just say 'no' and they will leave you alone. They are generally polite about it.

Shocking assistance, no professionalism what so ever, was very disappointed with staff guests and pricing of hotel, I have never been to a hotel as poorly as the sage hotel in Wollongong. I was abused and targeted as a middle eastern person and I would never in my life return or suggest anyone to stay at the sage hotel in wollongong.. any further questions to whoever is reading this you can call me on my mobile phone 0439479425 I’m hoping to speak to a manager or higher. Not even going to say thank you at this moment.

The motel's central location right on the highway means it's close to shops, restraurants. It's right next to a roundabout so it's not hard to get in/out even if you arrive on the opposite side of the road. Staff are very covid safe requiring double vax to stay there and no contact key drop off when you leave. Room had decent facilities eg: microwave, minifridge, jug, free tea/coffee/milk and biscuits which is nice considering it's a cheaper place.

The rooms were very clean, the bathroom was so clean as if it was a five star hotel. We are a family of five with a 5 years old and two teenagers. We had two rooms and an extra bad and we loved it. I certainly want to come back again when we plan to visit the Wollongong again. Excellent property with free parking on site!

Hotel was only 1hr drive from Sydney, and only a 5 min walk to shopping center and beach. Liked having a larger fridge in the room instead of the usual bar fridge. The beaches are clean and patrolled.
