Stately Stuttgart is friendly and green. Surrounding the city are tree-lined hills, while in the centre is the ‘Green U’, a series of parks and gardens that make great picnic spots.
The city’s focal point, Schlossplatz is a huge square with a tall column marking the entrance to the New Palace. Dating back to the 10th century, the city’s Old Palace is just opposite and its square is the site of the Stuttgart Christmas markets.
In the Bad Cannstatt area of Stuttgart are mineral spas, the 2nd largest in Europe behind Budapest. Just south of here is what the city is perhaps best known for – its car industry. Head to the architecturally-impressive Mercedes-Benz World for a spiralling walk through its history. On the opposite side of the city is the Porsche Museum, also worth a look.
Always something of a pioneer, the city erected the world’s first TV tower. Go to the top for amazing views. Other interesting Stuttgart attractions are the planetarium, and Stuttgart Zoo, housed in the Wilhelma Palace, built in Moorish style and once home to royals.
Before heading to Stuttgart Airport from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or B&B, make sure that you try some local Swabian food. The brezel (pretzel) originated here and makes a very tasty snack.

I've expected to find more for such a rich city, one of the richest from Germany. They invested nothing in urban style, the access to the main railway main station is horrible because of the works there - which apparently will be a long stay of order, at last more 10 years from now and an unpractical general plan of this construction, with more cement and than green areas. missing of functional elevators for handicap people, poor offer in the shops from the central commercial street, poor offer in the malls, absence of relaxing areas, terrible air pollution, some central areas with no street cleaning services, garbage, boring architecture.
conclusion: an old industrial town, with an total unsustainable and unaesthetic urban plan.

Airport is outdated.
Airport is outdated. Airport staff is not helpful sometimes rude. I was patted down by security and the lady raised up my shirt to my bra and then turned my waistband down and felt around in my pants. While I understand that security is necessary this kind of check should have been done behind a screen. I felt very exposed. Also the person checking carry on doesn’t know the rules, I had a deodorant that was 90 ml and he said he had to take it because it was not meeting guidelines. I checked guidelines and it doesn’t allow liquid and deodorant sprays that are 100 ml. Every time we come through the Stuttgart airport there is something. Never have problems going through Munich, Paris, London.

Stuttgart was a relatively clean city when I last stayed there - pre-Covid. Now it is dirty and still suffering from the Stuttgart 21 ambitions. Most of the time we ate at the hotel for convenience.

The centre is lovely: the Koenigsplatz and nearby, particularly when the sun is shining, is a good place to drink a coffee.
We always love the Stiftskirche: sometimes an organ is playing in there. The Markt is amazing: we usually buy things there. We recommend the excellent Italian restaurant on its first floor.
The parks are lovely too. Although the new railway station is a mess, one can still get to green places.
We also love the shops, particularly the old Stuttgart ones like Tritschler and Breuninger.

There are precisely two things worth visiting in Stuttgart - the Mercedes Museum & the Porsche Museum. There is nothing else of any interest there whatsoever, If you get to Stuttgart in the evening, stay over, then you can easily visit these two places in a day then leave - I wouldn't even bother staying a second night.
There are a couple of good restaurants around, but nothing so good that you makes it stand out from other cities.
Always good value for money with Motel One. Parking is possible in a separate area in the underground parking garage and the elevator takes you straight to the lobby. It's a short walk to the city center where the restaurants and shops are. Public transport is closeby which we took to visit the Mercedes museum (a must see when you are in Stuttgart). It's nice to be able to have a good cocktail in the bar area before calling it a night.
We arrived early about 4 hours before check-in.
We are a family of four with two small children and were traveling with 5 checked bags with no where to go.
The hotel under the circumstances offered us a room early and gave the children treats and coloring books.
Who does that?
Well Movenpick at Stuttgart airport did.
They went out of their way to accommodate us and we are very thankful.
Strategic location not far from Stuttgart city center.
Nice large clean light room with big windows and electric roller blinds
Free parking is possible.
Good breakfast.
Hairdryer is convenient.
Very tasty restaurant "Denkbar" not far from the place and Penny minimarket right next to the accomodation.
The owner is carefull about heath and covid, wearing mask is mandatory.
Staff very kind and helpful. Comfortable bed, very nice bathroom with spacious walk-in shower. Very clean hotel. Excellent location to discover the city center. Just a step from the main shopping street. Close to the main railway station.
Possibility to refill the water bottle at the reception free of charge.
Actually much nicer than the reviews say, especially for the cheapest hotel in Stuttgart. Old feeling furniture but neatly kept, the room was not stated to have a balcony but it did :)
The pillows were indeed a bit worn, I had two to myself since the double was so cheap and slept really well actually!
Complete value for the money, friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious room with big and comfortable bed.
From our window we had a view over the Stuttgart.
City center is 15 min away by foot, also shopping areas.
I haven't seen so many options for the breakfast until now, quite surprised.
Really clean and comfortable, good location, only 10 min walk to main train station, especially the bathroom is really like 4 star hotel, and even if the exterior look old from outside, lift is available and furniture are modern, if i come fo stuttgart again will stay here again
The room was very clean and comfy, well equipped with what you need for spending one weekend in Stuttgart. The hotel is very accessible from the highway but it takes around 30-40 min to get into the city center (bus station at 5 minutes from the hotel).
Very standard hotel but of good quality. You know what you will get, nothing more, nothing less.
Easy to get fast to city centre Stuttgart by public transport.
The Bad Cannstatt area where the hotel is located is rather nice as well.
Clean, modern and comfortable. A lot of space in the room compared to most European hotels. Tea and coffee in the room, iron, hairdryer and USB ports to charge devices. About a 20min walk to downtown Stuttgart.
The room price, size, cleanness was really okay, The breakfast was convenient and the the hotel location is close to the city center, there is also the street train and subway access around 4-5 minute by walk.
The staff was very friendly and responded to requests quickly. The room was modern, clean and spacious. The hotel is a 8 minute walk from the main station, and the city center is only two subway stations away.
The hotel is good value and located not far from city center by car. It is quiet and near a beautiful botanical zoo park. Breakfast selection was good. There is a parking underground which is convenient.
It’s probably the only hotel with free parking. The room was small but clean, the hotel itself is cosy, has a small yard with lounge zone. A bit far from the city center, but good value for money.
The staff was really helpful and kind, specially Ahmed! The hotel is clean, really close to the main station and just 10 minutes by walk to the city center. Breakfast was good.
