Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.

Lovely friendly accommodating people (all the locals). The graffiti is artwork in most cases, I was informed it's used to mark abandoned/derelict buildings. Can be a little disorientating in the old town, but it is beautiful. Traffic can be a little busy around rush hour, if you are not used to city driving and some of the roads can be a bit uneven around the old town, so I'd advise don't drive through Old Town in a sports car.

Praia de faro is nice of you looking for a quiet break it has few restaurants for a nice meal.and a few drinks. Beach is beautiful so if you want a slow pace holiday near the airport just to unwind its for you. If you prefer bars and shops there aren't any really.

Faro was nice, good food / drink and is best suited as a base if you are staying for more than four days. It’s got a charming old town but it is a small place and you can see most things in a day or two. It has a nice feel about it - much better than Albufeira for example as it’s not so. commercialised or rowdy. Faro is a lovely place for a few days.
Faro is a lovely place for a few days. We walked most of the town. The weather was a little windy and cool but we still went out on a sunset cruise which I highly recommend. Faro beach was wonderful too. Lots of different cuisines. A great spot!

We love travelling and generally take a couple of breaks during the year. So we hope to visit you again early next year. Could you please quote us for a weeks stay for two of us for next January or February. We generally go cruising later on in the year and we like taking 3 or 4 day breaks on our west coast in Ireland. Food. Definitely the food. Delicious and at a good price. The city is also nice, great for evening or morning walks. And the Natural Park is great to see. I wouldn't bother with the Castle restaurant, the view is nice, staff is nice, but prices are a bit high and you can't pay by card. Taberna Modesto just next to it was sublime. You don't get the sunset, but the atmosphere is very nice and food is delicious and not as expensive. Plenty of places for morning coffee and breakfast, if you're into that. The Forum Algarve is another good place to visit. Great for shopping and eating and a very nice place overall to spend your day,FlorentinUnited Kingdom

We used the small pool area for a few hours, it is small but quiet and a lovely sun trap. The rooms are lovely, clean and stylish. They also went out of their way to make the room special for our stay. Although they don’t have catering breakfast was offered for delivery, but we opted to use a local cafe as the hotel is 5m from the town centre. Highly recommend the hotel for a night or few nights in Faro town.

A certain 1950s charm to the hotel but, see below... More suitable for the warm days of summer, when you spend all of your time outdoors. Only five minutes from the airport by bus or taxi, but not too noisy, as not under the flight path of the aircraft. The same bus takes you regularly into the town of Faro - and there is also a ferry into town, a 30 minute trip well worth taking, cheaper than the bus!GPMonIreland

Staff were very nice to deal with. Receptionist gave us alot of information about the rea. Hotel is in a great location where one can wander into the town and marina. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. Had tea and coffee facilities and a bottle of water. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment.

We like the King suite with a hot tub in the balcony overlooking Ria Formosa. There was also a welcome drink to choose from. We had a glass of wine and rose. The receptionist/ barmaid/ waitress/ chef was very friendly. The location is quiet and only 5 mins drive to Faro airport which is handy on our last day in Portugal. The whole place was very clean and modern in decor.
