Rome is like living history. It combines historical sites worthwhile to visit with very good gastronomy. Of course you have to try yourself the Italian restaurants menus because quality may vary from place to place as well as the prices. The more off site the restaurant is the better it is. Rome is a very popular destination so be prepared for long waiting time until you enter the popular historical sites.

Beautiful city.
Beautiful city. We did not go into any of the main attractions, but visited and viewed them all from the outside. They were magnificent! Center of Rome is incredibly busy. Cars and scooters do not respect or yield to pedestrians. We found that many people were not as friendly as we had heard(not talking about the hotel staff. They were the best!)

Beautiful city with so much to see - great for walking around and you don't even need to use public transport. LOTS of tourists, so be aware you need to book for EVERYTHING. Would recommend going in spring as it gets very hot, but also great that around the main city area/ The Vatican there are free fresh drinking water fountains.
Would highly recommend visiting the Trastevere area for food and drink, lovely vibe and so many places to try... and a tour of the Colosseum is a MUST!

Rome was wonderful and a week there did not provide enough time to see everything we wanted to see. Reservations or advance tickets are definitely needed for most places it seemed, but helpful hotel staff and locals made that process much easier.
If you have mobility issues then be very wary, since getting around, especially if you need a taxi to pick you up at a specific location can be fairly challenging along with the unescapable stairs, busy narrow sidewalks and large amounts of people everywhere, bur especially at the most famous landmarks.

Rome, the Eternal City, never fails to captivate with its unique blend of ancient history and vibrant modern life. From the awe-inspiring ruins of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, resonating with the might of the ancient Roman Empire, to the tranquil allure of the Vatican City, Rome promises an extraordinary journey through time.
As you stroll along the cobblestone streets, you'll stumble upon numerous piazzas adorned with timeless fountains. The air is infused with the tantalizing scent of freshly brewed espresso from lively cafés. The culinary delights are a sensory feast, with authentic dishes that entice your taste buds and celebrate the depth of Italian cuisine.
However, Rome can sometimes overwhelm with its throngs of tourists and the hectic pace of city life. To navigate this, consider visiting popular attractions early in the morning or late in the afternoon and take breaks in quieter areas like the Aventine Hill. Despite this, the city's artistic heritage and historical grandness make it a must-visit destination for those seeking to experience the soul of Italy.

Take it easy - there's so much to see that you will probably try and take in too much.
Pack good walking shoes - you'll find you walk further than you expected and the cobbled roads/pavements are tough on the feet.
Buses - don't rely on any online bus information - it's a work of fiction.
Spend some time in Trastavere during daytime - it's usually more relaxing than the centre, but does get more frenetic after dark.
We stayed at this hotel on the first night arriving in Italy and also our last night. There is a BIG difference in the quality of the two rooms. This particular room was very up to date. BEAUTIFUL! I wished we had gotten this room on our first night! Great location, easy walk from train station! We tried gelato at least 15 times in our 2 week Europe trip, and the Gelato directly across the street from the hotel is the WINNER for the BEST gelato!!! I recommend the amaretto cherries one with the brittle. WOW!!
Hotel is very conveniently placed for travellers who come for sight-seeing in Rome but don't want to stay right in the centre, as there are two public bus lines close by and they operate frequently. It is even possible to park a private car at the hotel but the number of places is limited. Our room was perfectly comfortable and clean, fresh towels every day, mini fridge, safe deposit box, air-condition. Breakfast included more variety of foods than in many hotels in Italy (eggs, bacon, cold meats...).
Location was great, we walked from the Rome Termini train station, the rooms were amazing and so was the staff. We had two rooms and the accommodations for everyone in our party was more than comfortable. We traveled all over Italy and this was our favorite hotel stay. There were places to eat, shopping and public transit within walking distance. Rome was the busiest city we visited but had the friendliest people. I highly recommend this place, whether you're traveling with family or on business.
Probably one of my best stays in europe and particularly in Italy for that range of price. Staff was very kind, helpful and humble. The room was very clean with all equipments. no noise from the streets since the window is toward the garden. very close to the metro and Roma Termini. and I need to mention while the breakfast was not on the list of benefits I had access to the coffee and light breakfast and also the kitchen tools. I would surely remember this hotel for later when I visit Rome.
It was the best hotel we stayed in throughout Italy. Hotel Everest Inn - Rome was the best compared to our hotels in Milan, Florence and Naples. The room was a great size for 2 people, bright and clean including the bathroom. The staff at reception, including Ivan were very helpful and friendly and also allowed us to freshen up after we checked out and had to come back for our luggage. We also had free coffee and croissants in the morning. We definately would book this hotel again.
Vintage, comfy and quaint hotel. Super fast internet, very good breakfast, rich variety of food.
Very nice staff, helpful polite and smiley. We asked for two single beds instead of one double, they put us in a double bed by mistake. The issue was resolved within 5 minutes.
Our accommodation was great, the location is ideal for transportation anywhere in Rome or anywhere else in Italy, for metro and Italian railways.
We would definitely stay there again.

(the hotel receptionists), our first 4 days in Italy were great. They are very nice people, very friendly and very helpful.
The hotel itself is also very good and exactly as described in the booking site. The price is very reasonable to such a good hotel with a parking, an excellent location and very good breakfast.
If I come to Rome again, certainly I’ll choose this hotel.
Everything about this hotel was absolutely wonderful. From the location, on a beautiful, tree-lined street which as central to everything and yet not noisy at night, to the rooftop terrace breakfast, to the outstanding service from Gianluca and his team. We stayed 5 nights and none of us (including my 8 year old) wanted to leave. Of all the places I've stayed in Italy and in other countries, this was the best of the best.
The hotel experience was excellent overall. Amazing staff, very friendly. The location was ideal. The room was superb. Very clean, spacious and brand new furniture. I loved it so much that I will always come back when in Rome. I do consider this the best hotel I’ve stayed in Italy, and overall excellent value for money too. Thank you so much TB Place Roma, it was great to stay with you and looking forward to the next time.
This was our second stay at Hotel Trastevere within a 10-day period. (We started and ended our trip to Italy in Rome, with visits elsewhere in the middle.) Once again, we greatly enjoyed the location, the friendly and helpful staff, and the daily breakfast. Although it probably doesn't have all the amenities that some larger or more expensive hotels do, it had almost a family atmosphere, and we felt very much at home.
Very clean rooms, comfortable and nice looking I think the best hotel we have experienced so far in Italy. Just next to the metro station and away from the crowd - best location to explore Rome The host is very friendly. I was did not want to leave as I felt so relaxed and wanted to stay longer.
All of this Home at Rome i like very much, specially the stuff how to assist you and to explain everything and to remind you if you are first time in Rome Italy, if take a Bus don't forget to buy a ticket. Take note the breakfast a lot of you choose, all is perfect 👌
We enjoyed our stay, everything was good for what we paid. we asked for a room with a nice a view and we got it.
We went to Italy with our car so we can’t say anything about the public transport, indeed the hotel is a bit far from the center of Rome.
Parking was safe.
The rooms were lovely and big for Rome, and the hotel was extremely clean. Also, unusually for Italy, we found the bed really comfortable. The elevator was fully functional which was great because we were travelling with a baby. A good breakfast spread as well.
Excellant location, quite, safe, standard double room, Good Housekeeping,
Address on our booking confirmation was Via Varese 5, Central Station, 00185 Rome, Italy but we saw mail on the evening of check in that our hotel is in another building another 400yards
The building was beautiful and the location was absolutely perfect. We were able to walk all around Rome from our hotel. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was the perfect place to stay for our first trip to Italy.
The breakfast was excellent. It.was the best complimentary breakfast of all the hotels we stayed in on our Italy. The staff was extremely friendly. It was just a short walk from the train station.
Very well decorated. Very well managed. Clean. Great location and close to everything. Loved the high ceilings and though close to Termini, not too close. Unusually large room for Italy hotels.
The warmth of the staff was exceptional.
The location of the hotel just could not be better for those wanting to be at the centre of Rome, Italy and the Universe.
Rome, Italy - it's love at first sight! Amazing hotel in the city center, great friendly staff who are ready to help at any moment. Delicious breakfasts!
