Wow! I've been dying to stay here and it did not disappoint. The property itself is beautiful and so well maintained. Feels lush, unique, and bohemian. Like a magical little retreat in the jungle. The complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious and fully vegan -- the perfect light meal before starting our beach day. The bed was comfortable and the view of the jungle from our room was so dreamy. Plus, the outdoor shower was heavenly. We also traveled with our dog and they had a little bed and food bowls waiting for him. Would definitely stay here again. Also, we rented a golf cart during our stay. Highly recommend you rent some sort of transportation, whether its that or a car.

If you have dreamed of having your own private beach...Vieques is for you! Bring everything you need because there are no facilities on the beaches. Very beautiful, but I think Flamenco beach in Culebra is perfection. My fave is Luquillo Balnearion Monserrate...so convenient.

Most of the remote beaches on the east side are closed due to stray bombs. They do not advertise this fact well.
The social climate on Vieques is somewhat hostile. The vendors are dishonest, trying to rip you off. Lots of rude people, drunks and bums. A fistfight and shouting match broke out on our ferry ride. The locals and strays seem to be annoyed by the masses of tourists. The restaurants are a bit expensive.
Overall it's a huge hassle getting to the island and then finding a car/cart. You're probably better off staying on the big island beaches. That being said, it's a beautiful spot and there's some nice snorkeling spots.

We came to see the BioBay.
We came to see the BioBay. It is quite a chore to get over there, so make it worth your while! We ate at Bananas and talked with a few of the locals. Got to see the wild horses that are all around the island. Enjoyed a sunset walk oceanside.

Must explore the island.
Must explore the island. So many beaches and scenery to view. Use the time to dine at smaller local restaurants as well for local cuisine. All rental and tourist support places were friendly and very helpful!

Vieques is gorgeous! There are so many beach opportunities. We visited only four beaches on this trip since we spent only one day on Vieques. However, we loved driving across the island on a golf cart and taking in all the scenes. The horses everywhere give it a magical feel, and everyone is so friendly and laid back. Make sure to have cash as many vendors/food trucks don't take cards. The bio bay is INCREDIBLE and should be on everyone's bucket list!!

If you just want to get away and relax Vieques is the place to go. Not a lot to do here, simply enjoy the beaches and relax.
Easy to travel around island. Love all the horses roaming the island.
Ferry easy and safe and inexpensive. Love the bio bay tour of the bioluminescence at night. Real highlight.
Food on island was delicious.
Nick, the owner, was friendly. The guest house is in a good location that makes it easy to get to the N and S sides of the island. The guesthouse has a nice game room with a fridge. They provide beach towels free of charge. They gave us a hand made key chain which was a nice touch. While the rooms are clean, the common areas have many small piles of chicken and peacock poop that are not cleaned, but left to dry. The birds are part of the property.
Location was great, just a few steps and you’re on the Malecon, walking along the water. Beds were comfortable and there was decent water pressure with water that gets very hot. It’s self check in and out, but the hosts are pretty responsive via text. Air conditioning works well. All the staff at the adjoining bar are great (just don’t bother them when they are busy! That place gets slammed!)
I had an amazing experience as a guest at the Glamping. Everything was perfect, Yashei and Julian are exquisite hosts taking care of my need with kindness and joy. I really recommend the driving tour of the island they provide as well as all the other experience they suggest. Hearth warmed people with a lot to share! The tent was fresh, the bed comfortable, the location excellent.
The location is fantastic in that it's extremely close to the beach and Lazy Jack's restaurant. It was affordable for the location. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed having a private bathroom in the suite. The room was extremely clean. We liked keyless entry. The location worked extremely well for us as we were visiting mostly beaches and the bio bay based out of Esperanza.
everything was PERFECT! the host is so friendly and helpful, has the best recommendations, and has thought of everything. There are coolers, chairs, floats, coffee, aloe, a shared kitchen, beach towels, etc. We loved staying in this part of the island vs Esperanza as it’s much quieter but still so many more places to visit. I can’t say enough how wonderful it was!
EVERYTHING WAS MAGICAL! We could have not hope for a better place to stay in Vieques. The property is beautiful, the views are amazing. We had such a great time, it is a peaceful place - perfect to relax and recharge!
Patricia and her husband are the nicest hosts. The breakfast served is delicious. Everything is home made and so tasty.
fantastic find! right next to the most beautiful beach on the island (coconut beach), free continental breakfast, free towel rentals, snorkel and beach gear also available, great view, close to all the tours and restaurants and great advice from the hosts on how to make the most of your stay! would highly recommend!
The host was very welcoming and passionate about the island and justice for the people. She is motivated to educate guests about the island and offers a tour. It was great that she offers this backyard tent option for an affordable place to stay. It is also very close to Esperanza and the bio bay tours.
Excellent all around. The water to the island was cut off, and Casa De Tortuga messaged us saying we could cancel for free as soon as they knew. We still decided to visit Vieques, and they were super accommodating to all of our needs! I would 100% recommend this to anyone who is coming to Vieques.
Location is ok, very near of the center of isabella II. Unfortunately Isabella II is suffering of the economic downturn and you might want to choose the southern part of the island (esperanza) which is a bit more lively for tourist.
Room was perfect for what the island of Vieques is. Even though there isn't a view of the ocean it literally takes 2 mins to see. It is also that close to the ocean front "strip" that offers dining and light shopping.
I loved staying here! Suzan & Tyler are fantastic hosts & went out of their way to make my stay on Vieques the best it possibly could be. They are very generous with all their information & recommendations.
Great location! Close to the Esperanza beach, the Biobay tours, and restaurants. I also like the art style of the building and interior decoration. There are also complementary coffee and water.
we loved the hospitality and communication. the room was amazing and we were extremely comfortable. more so than a hotel. I won’t stay anywhere else on vieques. private and perfect! stay here!
this has been my only stay on Vieques, so I don’t know what other properties are like. it is on the older side, but in a quiet neighborhood, and within walking distance of Esperanza
