The dinner and the breakfast was outstanding. The location was great.

Being so close to the photographic opportunities we wanted to have. Hotel is in the "hotel zone" almost as close to the end of the line of hotels as you could get. That meant we could walk only a short distance to start walking on the causeway to decide where we wanted to take our photos. Free shuttle stops only a short distance from the hotel to take you out to the actual island...doesn't make any stops once on the causeway.
Sarah was a friendly and helpful employee during our stay.
This Mercure is located in parkland just 1.2 mi from the abbey of Mont Saint Michel. It offers spacious rooms with attached bathroom, a restaurant and bar and plenty of free on-site parking.

Room service. Might be the most thorough room service in the world.
Hotel Gabriel is located 1 mi from Mont Saint-Michel. It offers free Wi-Fi access and rooms with attached bathroom just a 25-minute walk from the walls of the old city.

Probably the most comfortable bed I have experienced in France.. I find most beds to be too firm for me. The staff is amazing. The shower has ample room and the pressure was appreciated. The location, across from the shuttle was convenient, but we opted to walk to Mont-Saint-Michel. Very dog friendly as well!
Composed of 2 different buildings, Les Terrasses Poulard is a historical property in the heart of Mont Saint-Michel and offers views of the bay, the village and the street.

A dreary, tiny room in a dreadful property. As, apparently, are almost all the hotels here. Tip: take a photo of the Mont from across the bridge. Do not come to visit. MOBS of tourists (in early May, no less) that make the entire town unwalkable. Wall to wall people. And not a decent restaurant to be found. Take a photo from a distance and KEEP DRIVING.
Located in the heart of Mont Saint Michel medieval Village, Hôtel La Croix Blanche offers a terrace and a bar. The rooms at Hôtel La Croix Blanche have a flat-screen, satellite TV and a mini-bar.

The Abbey tour itself was nice, but the mob we had to struggle thru to get there was a nightmare. And when we were done with the tour? Wall to Wall humanity. As if they dropped Euro Disney into the middle of the medieval walkways. We were here the first week of May, before the U.S. tourists even started arriving. I cannot imagine how awful this would have been with even more people. This is a magnificent place, well worth seeing ... FROM A DISTANCE. The walkways to the Mont were utterly jammed with people, and after a 40 minute wait the shuttles were stuffed like sardines. STAY AWAY! (Or maybe go in February or something). Take a photo from a distance and KEEP ON DRIVING.

The shuttles from the hotel complex are free and run every 10mns or so. It's also a lovely 2km walk from the hotel if you want to avoid the packed shuttle.
Don't bother spending a fortune on the hotels as they're all in the same place and are all about the same really.
The restaurant Le Pré Salé is the best and is a must if you're into good food. Book early though!
I recommend going in the evening to the mont st michel after 3pm when crowds start to leave. We went around 12pm and it was very busy despite it being a Monday mid season.
The self guided audio tour is great and well worth it.
And food is outrageously expensive in the Mont village and really not so good. Best bring a picnic and save your money for a nice restaurant in the evening.
All this said, a fabulous day out!

Mont St Michel is wonderful to visit.
Mont St Michel is wonderful to visit. The accommodation however was very poor and in an annex which was hard to find. The room was small and in very bad condition. Light switch hanging off the wall, tv and bedside lights did not work and space very limited. We had to persuade the restaurant staff that we had prepaid for dinner! Would certainly pick another hotel if we returned, which we won’t.

we knew there would be crowds - so we wanted to see it at night. arriving at 10:30pm, we found our room (finally) and took off to explore with a bottle of wine, a baguette, some cheese and dried meats - and had a glorious experience with not another soul about . . . wandered til 2:30 am and got spectacular photographs and had a wonderful time. got up at 8:30, had cafe & crepes, and left the isle at about 10:30 just as the masses began to arrive. trust me - do it like this . . .

Beautiful place to visit steeped in history but extremely crowded all day long. Only quiet and empty at night but everything is shut then very early and difficult to find a place to eat. The car park is extremely expensive and dreadfully overpriced. I paid €34 for overnight stay in a disabled Car park for which I had a blue Badge. Thought this was exorbitant and a terrible rip-off! However, there is no choice because shuttle bus is so far away from the Mount.

Great to spend the evening on Mont st Michel but aim to arrive by 7pm to enjoy a meal before all the restaurants close. You can look around the island once all the day tourists have gone home.
I recommend getting to the Abbey when it opens, or just after, agsin to get ahead of day trippers.
One night on the island is sufficient.
You need to be mobile. Steps too steep for wheelchairs and push chairs.

Every aspect of visit to Normandy was disrupted when SNCF cancelled the prepaid train line from Lille to Rouen, so I couldn’t access my prepaid rental car inTouen, and couldn’t visit the American Cemetary or Mont St. Michel as planned. My only experience about your hotel was being told “too damn bad” and being reimbursed when I explained why we had to cancel. Does this sound like a good time to you?
It was an authentic stay on the island. Historical building and large room & bathroom. All facilities you would expect were offered in the room. A quiet night and very nice start of the day the following morning. We didn’t mind the steps, what else would you expect on a hill? We took that into account when packing.
The location is great if you want to stay on the island itself. I had seagulls nesting outside my room and beyond could see the land/water towards the shore - it was a good view. The room was small but quite adequate. They work with the next door hotel to have a secure place for bicycles.
Super value to stay on the island. Staff is great, and breakfast was very good. Room was tiny, but bathroom was nice and shower was good sized for the small space. There is only so much that they can likely do given the space constraints on the island.
on Mont Saint Michel itself which allows you to experience the island at different times of the day, early in the morning when it’s quiet or mid day when it’s very busy. also it allows you to be on the island and see it at high and low tide.
Nice stay, near to the stop of free shuttle to Mont st Michel. There is a parking spot for 9.80 euro 24h. It is nice to stay with a small kid, the crib was in place.
Also thanks to the hotel crew, we were checked in 1 h before :)
The room is clean and quiet. The shuttle bus station is only 1min walk from the hotel. Luckily we could book restaurant through hotel staff otherwise we couldn't find any food nearby. The breakfast is good with a fair price.
hotel is one of the first before the passarelle to mont saint michel and you can see it from the small balcon. Nice breakfast. You can have your car near the hotel with the code provided 24hr before your booking
The location was perfect for us and fits our needs. room was comfy enough for us. and the shower room was spacious compared to some in other hotels in France. will definitely come back in the future.
Clean and functional hotel near to the stop of the navette which brings you in seven minutes to the Mont Saint-Michel. Parking directly at the hotel, good French breakfast with real espresso.
Fabulous stay. Spacious room. Very kind staff. Closest of all hotels to Le Mont Saint Michel. Convenient Navette to the Abbaye from the hotel. Great breakfast.
We wanted to stay on the island so the accomodation, whilst not perfect, served the purpose. Breakfast was average, and expensive for what was provided.
Wonderful opportunity to stay on the Mont and experience the island after the crowds leave for the day. Charming, authentic, historic hotel experience.
