The location is incredibly beautiful, the hotel is in the middle of nature. The design is very modern, yet simple. The room is big and the pillows are great. The pool is just amazing and so are the lounge chairs and canopies by the pool. they even have sun lotion and aftersun lotion by the pool. It is always free, as people are usually engaged in some kind of adventure. The day we left, we cancelled the tour we had planned, just to enjoy some time by the pool and did not regret it. We loved the food, we also tried the other restaurant on the property and it was really good.

Located 5 minutes' drive from Santa Elena town centre, and 4.9 miles from Monteverde, Costa Rica. This hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways! It's at the end of a pathway at the border of the forest, so there is no traffic noise and a lot of wildlife to see! We had a room on the top floor which was very quiet and private, with a terrace from which we could see lots of birds and animals. Breakfast was great and staff was very helpful. There is free coffee, tea and cake in the afternoon, and the hotel is conveniently located close to the city and not far from the national parks. Definitely recommended!

The stay at Hotel Belmar was really something special. I stayed twice at this place during our road trip through Costa Rica. The pure nature of Monteverde, the architecture of the hotel, and also the atmosphere of the hotel make this really a special place and we had no other place in Costa Rica where we felt like at home as we did here. I did a tour to the Madre Tierra farm with my daughter and a horseback ride. It was such a beautiful experience we will never forget. The breakfast and dinner was perfect and the restaurant is so beautiful with a remarkable view over the cloud forest. We will really miss this place as it sparked magic and means something to us.
