The best place I have been in all of Nepal. If I could give more than 10, I would. Shiva’s Hippies Colony in Sauraha is not just a guesthouse , it is a home. Raj and Swastika form a lovely family. Kind, respectful and human, they welcome you not as a customer but as a friend. From the very first moment, you feel safe, at ease, and truly seen. It’s a typical Nepali family setting, where you can experience something truly different. They are not acting kind, they are kind. Authentically. You can feel it in everything they do. I kept extending my stay, day after day. I only left because I couldn’t change my flight ticket. They can help you arrange any activity such as jungle walks, jeep safaris, canoe rides. Pick-up and drop-off are available too, to and from the bus park. They provide bycicles for free, the Wi-Fi is excellent, and the chill-out area invites you to relax, read, meditate, or simply be. The rooms are clean and comfortable, matress is top quality and the food is nourishing and delicious, and the pool is a big bonus. If you are heading to Sauraha and want to experience something deeper than just transactions and services (not blaming anyone,it’s just not my cup of tea), look no further. This is your place. Go with time. Let yourself slow down.

The staff was super friendly and made us feel like home. The surroundings were beautiful, garden clean and full of flowers. Quite room, where I had the best sleep after few weeks in Nepal. We also got a tour to jungle with them. Guides were very knowledgeable and caring. Explained every detail and were super patient with us. Would go back to them the next time. It really felt that they love what they do and do it from heart.

This is one of the best places we stayed at in a month in Nepal. The owner is really really nice and helpful, with booking things, with pick up and drop offs, with advice even at the last minute. The prices are very good too! The rooms are very comfortable and the garden they have is full of flowers and butterflies and birds! And the locations is very convenient for the national park and even just if you want to walk to the riverfront and watch for crocodiles and other wildlife at sunset

Clean rooms, good service, and beautiful garden with plenty of birds and plants. Just a few minutes walk from the main riverside. And the hotel stuff was very very helpful with everything - organizing trips, ordering bus, money exchange etc. They even picked up us at bus terminal even though we didnt let them know in advance. They organized for us a wonderful 3-day jungle walk tour. Big thanks to our guides — and after the tour also friends — Basu and Kumar, they are very proffesional! On the tour we saw a lot of animals, we stayed at local traditional village, and also in a nice river view hotel. They explained us everything about nature around and they didn’t make up any nonsenses. Important to mention that the tour was quite challenging due to the hot and wet weather, but we enjoyed really much!
