From villa not really walkable as street so very narrow.
From villa not really walkable as street so very narrow. Path not suitable for older folks or those with mobility problems. Had to drive. Good restaurants, beach and coffee shops. Grocery store close .
Easy drive to other beaches and towns for exploring.

The street closest to the beach where we stayed was the best 'old world' part of Salema. Other parts can be less aesthetically pleasing but the whole place is less fussy and busy than other coastal spots like Luz or Lagos. A quiet place worth 2 nights. Restaurant options good too, even in winter.

I loved this beach!
I loved this beach! It was so picturesque and uncluttered with commercialism. The water was a little too cold for us to swim, but it was a beautiful to stroll along the beach. Although this was a small beach, there were plenty of restaurants.

Quiet fishing village, not touristy.
Quiet fishing village, not touristy. Beautiful beaches and views of the ocean. Friendly people, good restaurants, lots of fresh fish. Easy to get around if you are wearing sturdy shoes as lots of steps and steep paths into the village from Salema Beach Village, however, there is a shuttle service from the hotel if required.

I deliberately chose to stay in Salema as I was looking for a small, pristine beach/fisherman g location - and I found it all there!
Salema has preserved its authentic self despite the tide of tourism that has engulfed other parts of the Algarve.
The beach is big enough to absorb many visitors without being full. The sand is beautiful and sunsets are of course very special.
The village has some very good restaurants, a gelateria and lots of cute shops.
And who doesn’t want to live, even temporarily, on Rua dos Pescadores!
Ocean and pool view was wonderful from our comfortable balcony. Pool was a nice alternative to swimming in a much colder ocean nearby. Very close to the central village with all the restaurants and beach. Grocery, cafe, and laundry services right outside our door! Getting cleaning service and fresh towels on our second day without requesting them was a nice surprise considering other hotels and apartments don't do this anymore until the day you check out.
I loved everything about this property, it’s right on the beach which almost felt like a private beach there were so few people. We stayed here the last of our three weeks in Portugal and it was wonderful. The Host and her mother are so kind and helpful, and so close to the property. I highly recommend this apartment! Thank you Vanessa for a lovely week♥️
Salema is a great place to stay for the beach holiday. The apartment we stayed in was big with very welcoming interior. The terrace with the daybed is perfect for time when you’re done with the beach but not really ready for dinner. The personnel took good care of us and were very attentive. Will we come here again? Absolutely yes!!!
Our room was fantastic. Appointments were stunning. Bed comfortable with quality beddings. Special lighting effects, push-button darkening drapes, triple sliders to balcony, stunning ocean views, stellar hot shower. We loved it all, including the warm and friendly staff at the hotel and Atlantic restaurant.
The location is very good. It is a moderate walk downhill to the beach and town, it is a steep climb back. The view from our unit, U20 was nice, but not like the photo on the website. Salema was recommended as a more picturesque beach town than other places in the Algarve and I have to agree.
Location was great. Just the week family escape to the warm weather that we needed. Besides the beach located just some steps away, Salema also has good restaurants that offer great seafood. The house is well equipped and it was quite pleasant to have fruits and water ready upon our arrival.
The condo was beautiful! It was sunny, fully-equipped with lovely patios, and a nice, partially- obstructed view of the ocean. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. Overall, our short stay at Salema was Beach Village was a highlight of our month in Spain and Portugal!
It was located on a pretty, peaceful street just a short walk to the beach and all Salema’s facilities.
I enjoyed eating at Boas - the friendly restaurant on the beach - food was delicious and service very good.
The kitchen was well equipped. The finishings were all pretty.
Our stay at Villamar was amazing! The Owner was so wonderful to us. We loved having the reserved beach chairs and umbrella. The food at the restaurant was incredible. I highly recommend this hotel!! Would stay again easily. In fact, I can't wait to go back.
We really recommend Romantick Villa as a great place to stay. The setting is beautiful with a lovely peaceful garden. The host is extremely kind, helpful and thoughtful. Salema is a great base for exploration to the many beautiful, unspoilt beaches nearby.
Being so close to the beach was awesome, so we could come and go throughout the day. We had a very enjoyable and relaxed stay in tranquil Salema.
The small, newly-renovated shower was lovely.
We ate well each evening in nearby restaurants.
Everything was perfect! Loved the size of the 2 bedroom sea view room. Large rooms, great bathrooms. Amazing view of Salema. Short walk to town. Husband and son loved the paddle tennis courts. loved the fresh beach towels everyday.
We had a great view of the beach and ocean. Just a minute walk to 6 restaurants and small market. The bus stops twice a day across the street, making day trips to the other beaches and towns in the Algarve cheap and easy.
We had a lovely stay in this house with breathtaking view of Salema and the sea, right at the beach and near some lovely restaurants with vegan options and great hiking routes. Felt very at home, thank you Jo!
The villa is perfect. Well equipped with everything needed. The owner, Maria, kept in touch with us and made sure all was OK. Just a short walk from beautiful Salema beach. I would definitely stay here again.
Great charming hotel. With very nice, friendly and helpfull staff; all of them: thank you! Hope to come back another year (and hope that Salema will keep its piqtoresque charm).
Self catering. The view was superb and the apartment was in walking distance to the beach, bars and restaurants. The furnishings were stylish and of good quality.
