Located right above the old harbour of Chora Sfakion, the family-run Lefka Ori features a traditional tavern with a sea-view terrace. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout and rooms with a balcony overlooking the Libyan Sea, the mountain or the surrounding area.

I stayed for 12 nights in a large 35 m2 studio up on the hill, away from the crowded part of the village. The studio is spacious, has sleeping space for 3 people, and the sound isolation is excellent, especially against the cicadas :). The room is equipped with electric windows blinds which will block almost all light, very good if you want to sleep late. Overall, an excellent location if you want a good rest during your vacation. The Air Conditioning unit works very well and is very much needed during the mid summer there. The studio also has a fridge, a sink, an electric watter kettle and an electric stove. Chora Sfakion is a very good place if you want to do hikes in the gorges and mountains from south-west Crete. It also has fast boat access to other beaches and places in the area including the island of Gavdos (there is a fast boat and you have more than 6 hours on the island if you want just a day trip). The Lefka Ori (White Mountains) restaurant has very good food, I highly recommend it. The manager, Giannis, is avery nice guy.

Skafia is a lovely little area near some great hiking (sweet water beach, Aradena gorge, Kakos Poros viewpoint, etc). Faros Apartments are in a great location with a nice sunset view. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. They also own a cafe in town as well as a boat ferry service. The apartment is very clean. The bathroom was large and new.
