The heater was on ice in the middle of the night, so cold that I couldn't sleep.
The water in the spa is also very cold, making it almost impossible to get in.

Small town as a gateway to the Lake region.
Small town as a gateway to the Lake region. Perfect for stopping by incase you want to visit Hallstat and other lake regions.
Town itself is good with few important touristic spots like Kaiservilla etc. Good scenery especially on a cloudy day. Being small town shops closes by 6 and then nothing much to do as it becomes quiet.

I have fallen in love with Bad Ischl and its “Sommerfrische”! We first went there in 2021 for the Lehár Operette Festival. It is a quiet village which falls asleep at 10pm, but such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay with so many daytime activities on offer. Close to different lakes and plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities. Lots of culture and loaded with history. I will return here every summer for many years to come.

We went to the thermal after dinner and it was pretty empty (which was great!) note that you must be naked in the Sauna zone.
We had dinner at K.U.K and it was the best dinner we had in our trip
If you come at Winter, for breakfast I recommend to eat at the place you are staying because all cafes serves food outside... for us it was too cold. We ate at a hotel in the center.

1. With "Katrin Seilbahn" you can get a great view. Google Maps will tell you to walk to this place. However, you can get here by bus 551 from Bad Ischl train station. (Takes 10 minutes)
2. Taking a hot spring bath at "Eurotherme Resort" is also recommended.
3. Don't miss out on a delicious meal at "Umeko"

I highly recommend to visit Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl, it still belongs to the descendants of Habsburgs, well maintained, has great atmosphere and the tour guide there was just amazing. The Kaiservilla was featured at least in couple of movies (about Sissi and Ludwig II) and it really stands out compared to the visits to the other palaces and museums around the world, has some special personal touch and is of high historical significance.
Also Bad Ischl is a great budget base for visiting Hallstatt.
Location is great. If you are coming by train, the hotel is just across the train station. Parking for cars is easy and nothing to worry about. Bring your own food and keep them in the fridge. There is a kitchen that you can use with plates and other utensil, but you cannot cook there. However, the sitting area is just beautiful with a nice garden view and natural light. Coffee & tea are free and unlimited during any time of the day; alcoholic beverages reasonably priced.
Everything was great. She even helped us to go to supermarket because everything was closed on Sunday. She took us to the nearest shop by her car - thanks for that a lot.
Moreover, she is very attentive to details - the room smelled good, there was a toy for our kid, there were sweets for us, and coffee for several days. Small details at first sight, however, they made us feel good :)
We hope to come to Bad Ischl one more time and we will definitely stay there.
The apartman was really cosy and spacious, we liked it very much. We used the bigger balcony at almost all breakfast. It has a good view on the sorrounding mountains. The apartmant was well equiped with the things we needed. A special thanks for the coffee. In the evening it was a nice 10 min walk to the centre, and from Bad Ischl we could also access easily all important sights in the Salzkammergut region. All in all it was the best choice for accomodation for us.
The apartment is well located at the heart of Bad Ischl, we had all the facilities we needed and felt quite at home. The bed is comfortable and the apartment is very clean. We highly recommend the place but with some earplugs to get better sleep. I only reduced one grade for the noise otherwise we were really happy with the location and everything else. The apartment is central but it also has its cons for hearing cars and people the whole night.
Very nice location for driving to many lakes in Salzkammergut. Also the apartment is located in the center of Bad Ischl, accessible easily to supermarket, restaurants, bakery and ATM etc.
Especially for us, it was really convenient that we can use the same "Alles Gurgelt" Covid test system (with Wien's ID) in Oberösterreich, too. BIPA and BILLA is in 5 minutes walk from the apartment.
The host was super friendly, we got many tips on around.
We had a great experience at this self-checkin hotel. It is located near the Katrin Cable Car Station, in a quiet neighborhood, which makes it an affordable place. The atmosphere is very cozy, clean, and equipped with all the essentials you need. The check-in and check-out is automated. We totally recommend it for your trip to Bad Ischl or Hallstatt (only 30 minutes drive).
It was a clean and comfortable accommodation. Everything was equipped. I was very impressed with Mrs.Chen's kindness. The location is very good, and the accommodation is full of consideration for guests. This is especially suitable for a family trip.
I will stay here again next time. I dare say, It is your mistake to miss this place in Bad Ischl. :-)
The apartment was perfect clean, spacious, nicely furnished and well equipped. It was located in a pleasant location, just a short walk to the city center. Family Braumandl was very nice, helpful in everything and even our children were surprised by the cute Easter surprise. I recommend for any stay in the beautiful spa town of Bad Ischl. Silvia
The location was very good and the apartment is very spacious. You can find here everything what you need for a longer stay in Bad Ischl. All informations given to us via email or left in the apartment were very clear. We really enjoyed our stay here and the team was relly helpful from the beginning. Kitchen was also well equipped.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortable and located within an easy walk to everything. Karin was a fantastic host and was very accommodating and helpful. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Bad Ischl.
The apartment was right in the middle of Bad Ischl, close to everything. Our host, Mrs Chen, was amazing, helped us with all kinds of things including parking. The apartment was very big with 4 separate rooms, and 2 bathrooms.
The apartment is really good, clean, everything you need was there, as well as parking. If you want a relaxed and peaceful holiday, we recommend staying at "Im Kurpark" in Bad Ischl.
Nice little hotel in a very nice location.
Convenient time to move in.
Very tasty and varied breakfast.
