hotel reception was super helpful for many things, they helped us with planning for our day trips, suggesting restaurants, and even contacting one of them to check if they do take aways. Breakfast was very good with lot of options although a bit expensive (14 euros per person)

A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town Salzburg. The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps. That was a good change for me since I had been staying in city urban hotels earlier in my trip. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was good with ample quatity and variety. The facilities were fine. I had a nice room with a view over the countryside. I would stay there again.

The hotel is located in a quiet area on the edge of the town but the bus stop is just outside of the hotel so it's very convenient for exploring the city.
