The mini flat was well equipped. Bed was comfortable, and the restroom was bright. The kitchen was small but had all the basic utensils for a short stay. It offered also plenty of parking space.

The secret heaven (garden) of the property worth everything! Swimming pool has natural look, sunbeds are so comfy, I love it! A small thing; I was hearing slow house music all around the garden, sounds systems should be perfectly installed. Breakfast was amazing, every single details have been thought, from healthy-fresh shots to homemade plump jam and served perfectly. We will definitely come back.

Aalter isn't much to look at but the main square has a few nice, typical Belgian restaurant/cafés where you can enjoy a nice steak or some mussels along with a Jupiler beer.
It's right next to the main motorway between Calais and Brussels, about halfway between Bruges and Gent so ideal for a stopover.

We were going from Wales to Berlin and needed an overnight stay, somewhere we could get a good sleep and a nice breakfast in the midst of all the driving. About 75 mins from Channel tunnel so one feels one has made inroads on the trek across Europe before stopping for the night. Quiet town, nice restaurant in the square, the train to Bruges (15 mins) offers a chance to see a little bit of the city while passing through.
Our stay at the International House Aalter was fantastic! The breakfast was delicious and themed(Easter). We particularly appreciated the coffee machine and the ability to make tea. The room was extremely clean and well-designed, and the House was quiet and peaceful. The owners are polite and friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences we've had in a long time, and we left feeling happy and satisfied

We enjoyed the stay at this hotel. The beds were very comfortable, shading worked perfectly. The breakfast was excellent, made of high quality ingredients. The owner was very nice, even though we arrived late at night, there was no problem. He takes good care of his guests. Most of the equipment is robust, enough space even for the family of five. It was surprisingly good.
This small hotel was beautifully situated between Ghent and Bruges in farm country. The proprieter was very helpful in finding local restaurants; please note he speaks excellent Flemish, some English and a little French. Breakfast was excellent, catering to many tastes, and the beds are the comfiest we have had in a hotel yet.
Nice, cosy, quite and very clean hotel. Friendly staff. Located close to Brugge and Gent.
Breakfast is fresh but limited.
If you want your windows overlooking the quite yard, be ready to get the view of the cemetery 😉
