Our stay in Meiringen was quite nice. Had good two days there. Property is near to Meiringen train station. Staff is pretty helpfull, as they favoured in the night. we got our pizza from Supermarket and had it baked from them. They happily agreed even though they had their own pizza restaurant. Really like their Gesture.

Parkhotel du Sauvage, hotel in Meiringen

In the centre of Meiringen and surrounded by a beautiful park, this Art Nouveau hotel dating from 1880 offers panoramic views over the Bernese Alps.

This Hotel is near the station and only a short walk to get to the funicular to the Reichenbach Falls. A beautiful looking hotel that reminds me of the days back in the 1800's. I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else.

The location is excellent, only 5 min foot from the train station, the quality of breakfast products is also high, very clean room, the hotel itself has an amazing smell in the corridors and front desk and quiet hotel. Staff are very sympathies and helpful with all our needs. The bed and pillows are good quality. The shower is good, nothing special with that, and the room's size also met our expectations.

Meiringen is a wonderful place for mountain enthusiasts.

Meiringen is a wonderful place for mountain enthusiasts. It is not nearly as touristic as the nearby Interlaken and offers the chance to enjoy nature including Reichenbach falls, glaciers and the Aare Gorge cozily. A perfect escape location with a real Swiss spirit.

It was a lovely town unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions most shops were close. However Meiringen is centrally located to Interlaken, Lucern, Grimmewald. All within driving distance. Will visit again in summer , hopefully the covid restrictions are no longer there

Meiringen is a quiet community, but for travellers like me, it's perfect. I use a Swiss Travel Pass so visit different places everyday, some quite far away. I've visited Switzerland 17 times and am already planning my net trip.

Charming town, great access point to mountains and close enough to Interlaken that you can access activities there but enjoy a quieter and more relaxing location as your home base. There’s also lots to do in the town including the Sherlock Holmes museum and lots of cute shops.

    The scenery is just superb.

The scenery is just superb. I enjoyed hiking in the mountains above. The area is moist and green, and the aquamarine stream flowing through town from the Aarve gorge is very picturesque. I admit this was not my first time here. The only real issue was getting here and back from Geneva, which involved too many changes of train (four times on way back! - a problem when connections are tight and carrying a heavy suitcase)

The owner was very helpful and friendly, giving us a lift from the station and helping us to carry bags to the apartment and giving a few ideas on activities. He spoke good English with me and Schweizer Dutsch with my kids and was very easy going. Meiringen is a lovely town for a weekend with kids, lots to do (the Kugeln walk is great for young ones, walking and marble races... cool)

Meiringen is a lovely village surrounded by beautiful scenery offering splendid walks and sightseeing. The nearby Sherlock Holmes museum is a “must see” as are the Reichenbach Falls. Very central hotel close to the train station and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (a must to visit!), nicely renovated while keeping its historical touch. Holmes & Watson were supposed to stay there before Holmes "died" in the Reichenbach fall. We got a large room with balcony on the back of the hotel facing the calm garden and the mountains, beautiful. Nice service.

We loved the property. We stayed 5 days and everything was excellent. Very clean, comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Beds and living room comfortable as well. Great host welcomed us and know the area well. We were there on a cycling tour and Meiringen is a great location to base your cycling in this area.
