We only stayed for one night and did not have a lot of time to discover Andernach, but it seems like a nice town, with various historic buildings, possibility to walk along the Rhine. The restaurant the Peppermill was good, and conveniently close to the Rhein-Hotel, where we stayed.

Andernach is a suitable distance to drive from southern Germany. Do take the boat trip to see the geyser (30E for the boat ride and the museum), but go to the visitor center to get tickets. We did not know this and so missed the boat for which we were aiming.
The old town is quite picturesque and there are restaurants to suit most tastes. It even has a shopping mall (about 6 shops!).

Lovely little town, with plenty of medieval remains.
Lovely little town, with plenty of medieval remains. Unfortunately, somewhat difficult to reach if you walk along the Rheinsteig (on the other bank of the Rhine). A ferry goes there only three times per day.
Traditional hospitality and decor.
Family run. through generations.
Particularly enjoyed the personal touches like handcrafted wall hangings of quilt design throughout the hotel.
Incredibly close to the Railway Station which was very convenient when you are luggage laden.
Sadly, the Railway Station itself is a disgrace to the community.
It is just a 10 minute walk into the town centre.
I found the Keller Höhe while driving through Germany and just needed a place to spend a night traveling to UK, but it was much better than expected. Patrick was very welcoming and accommodating. Tasty breakfast delivered to the room was a cherry on top. Highly recommend, and I wish I could have stayed longer to explore the beautiful surrounding area.
We cycled into Andernach late afternoon and the owners were waiting and very helpful for check in and storing our bikes. He invited us for a welcome beer in the adjacent pub/ restaurant. We chatted with him and another guest about the area and cycle routes. It is a clean, cozy and comfortable room. We were very pleased!
Great Hotel, polite stuff, good Breakfast. Very interesting location, and a parking place in the nearby Grage, free of charge. Whatchout, use parkingspaces further to the top, as the ones at the entrace are often all filled, and because the places are to small, you could have problems gettting back in your car.
Incredibly comfortable, clean and well equipped apartment. Our first trip with our baby daughter, travelling for a family wedding. It was a home away from home and suited us far better than a hotel could have. (Having access to a washing machine was a life saver!) Our host was incredibly helpful and welcoming.
Outstanding hotel, exceptionally clean room top marks to house keeping. Modern with a good view of The Rhine. Private parking was additional 10 euros but well worth it, secure parking garage which for us was a must travelling with bicycles. Very friendly and helpful staff on reception. Very good breakfast.
Great hotel.for.my needs. It was locted near were my parents grew up. Very close to the inner city shops and restaurants. The sky bar was a great location to meet my family and have a few drinks. My only concern was the fan in the room did not work.and was a little warm in the early evenings.
Hotel was very clean, room and facilites extremely comfortable and the staff very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. As I arived late at night, the option to retrieve my key from a coded keybox made everything much easier
Good place to stay @Andernach. Pleasant breakfast, kind staff, good location, clean and worthy. Not a typical chain hotel rather a boutique hotel embedded in a good gastronomy and enoteca.
Very nice host! Perfect comunication.
Next to the hotel there is a roomy and free parking place.
Self check in - easy and perfect.
Everything was clean and tidy.
Really recommend.
