There was a bike ride that finished in the centre the day we stayed so it was very busy which added to the experience. Parking was not easy ,they give you very little room in the parking bays in the underground parking and forget about parking on the streets! We were there on a Sunday.
Loads of tapas bars to choose from. I would have liked to shop but not a lot open ,but it was a Sunday after all!
Look up , the buildings are wonderful.

There are restraints nearby where you can eat delicious Pinchos, so it was quite easy to get to. It was incredibly quiet from night to morning. Yes, there was no noise at all. I never once felt like I was in an unsafe place.
Next time I'll try taking the bus.

San Sebastian is really a great city for views: you have 2 mountains accessible on foot with great views on the bay (concha), the city and the ocean. There is also nice architecture (Art Nouveau), a great basque history/art museum (San Telmo) and a maritime museum with an aquarium.
And there is a great beach for surfing (Zurriola). So on the boulevards you can see side by side a surfer with surfboard and a very smartly dressed couple walking toward the Kuursaal.

Parks and beaches are beautiful.
Parks and beaches are beautiful. Food at some bars and restaurants is phenomenally good! I didn’t have time to visit museums, but I expect they are up to the quality of other aspects of public life. And people on the street and in the bars seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. (Although everyone seems to love a holiday weekend.)

The city is pretty and clean.
The city is pretty and clean. The food is excellent and varied leaning heavily to sea food. It is easy enough to walk around, there is taxi service for some of the attractions not downtown e.g. the stadium. Let me say, however, it is not as inexpensive as other places in Spain. Food can be pricey, especially some of the sampling meals in the restaurants. My Spanish is pretty okay, but, believe me Basque is not at all similar, fortunately, most menus, etc. are written in Spanish, French and English as well. The people are friendly and will work with you.

Beautiful city with amazing beaches, charming architecture,...
Beautiful city with amazing beaches, charming architecture, tons of amazing spots for pintxos, and a laid-back vibe. Public buses worked fine and there were taxis readily available during the day, but it's small enough to walk almost anywhere.
It’s perfectly located (Gros) to see all of San Sebastián but far enough away from the madness of the “Old Town”. The Gros area was a big surprise, full of great restaurants, bars and boutiques. The Hotel it’s self is beautifully designed inside and the rooms are just perfect. Continental breakfast was nice and we enjoyed sunset on the roof top bar. The staff were charming and could not do enough for you. We would highly recommend Abba and Gros when staying in San Sebastián. Thank you 🙏
Good quality of hotel, big room with huge bed. Facilities were great, big garden and pool (although pool not heated so too cold to swim - maybe a solar heater would be good). About ten mins by bus from the old town, bus goes from directly outside the property and is very regular, also local bars, shops and restaurants in walking distance that are good. Good value for money and would stay here again if in San Sebastián. Parking also very easy in large, secure underground car park.
A lovely little Boutique hotel located within a short walking distance to the old town. Very stylish rooms, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We arrived at the hotel a little too early to be able to check in but the lady on reception was so helpful and friendly when we arrived, stored our cases for us and when we came back our cases had already been taken to our rooms. Great hotel, we would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely stay x
We loved staying in the lovely old building, much nicer than 4 star hotels, more a boutique hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We were very lucky with the weather so could swim opposite the hotel. A beautiful walk in to the old town at night for tapas, with the see on our left and very attractive architecture to our right. We liked everything and will return.
It was in a great location, lovely cafés for breakfast/lunch also some nice boutiques around.
A short walk puts you on the lovely beach promenade; on La Concha beach itself; in a lovely, vibrant plaza; or in the old city, which offers a huge number of choices of pinxtos bars and restaurants. I was only in San Sebastián for two days, so this location was perfect. The young woman who works in reception was one of the friendliest and kindest people I encountered in three weeks in Spain. Especially as a senior solo traveler, I really appreciated that.
Very central location but yet a quiet street. Modern accommodation on first floor..Short walking distance from the bus station and to the old town. Ana was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable, has an excellent modern bathroom cleaned daily and fresh towels left. It was nice to have a fridge too and tea/ coffee facility. This Pension deserves more than 2* and the room was better than some 3 star hotels we have stayed in Spain.
Sercotel Codine is a hotel we have stayed in numerous times when we have visited San Sebastian, so this visit was no different. The hotel has a good location with bars and restaurants nearby and also close to the beach. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and I am sure we will be back in the future. It is easy to get to the old town either by a 15-20min or or take the bus which stops right outside the hotel.
Loooved this cute hotel!! It is in excelente condition very clean and pretty!! The location is perfect because you are not in the hustle and bustle of town, but town is super close!! I really felt like I was at a chalet in the mountains and it felt like being in a family house! Would recommend to everyone visiting San Sebastián! Nora at the front desk took her time to recommend places to see!! Can’t wait to go back!
The property was brand new and absolutely spotless. With great shared spaces for relaxing outside of our hotel room. It was located quite conveniently for getting taxis to and from the old town and bus stations.
The staff were also extremely helpful, our room wasn’t quite ready when we arrived so we had a complimentary drink at the bar and Najib in particular was so helpful with local knowledge and tips!
Friendly, private hotel with personality, rather than a boring chain establishment. The location was perfect on the outskirts of San Sebastián and the 16 bus offered an excellent service right into the centre. We loved our balcony and the sea view. Breakfast was good, for the price, and we enjoyed a slice of cake one afternoon. Good car parking, which is always important.
We love to stay at Room Mate hotels - very friendly, trendy boutique hotels. Rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and good amenities. Hotel is in a great location in the Old Town, in short walking distance to main sightseeing areas. In basement with no views, but breakfast buffet was excellent. We will certainly return here when we are next in San Sebastián.
The hotel is part of a chain, and we have stayed at other hotels in their system elsewhere in Spain. It's a good twenty minute walk to the hear of the old city, but otherwise it was clean and efficient. The front desk staff spoke our language (English), and were happy to provide maps and call cabs and such. The restaurant was quite nice and the food good.
Hotel with beautiful view on San Sebastian and great location close to the Funicular to Monte Igueldo or Ondarreta Beach (15 min walk) and Old town (40 min walk). Private parking (it is not so big so it may be full during the top season), tasty breakfast and friendly staff. Really nice place to stay during the visit of San Sebastian.
Great location to explore San Sebastián on foot. It’s a historic hotel that is really well maintained and was a joy to be in at Christmas time.
We were in a petit double room with ocean view. Don’t be fooled by the word petit. It was a regular hotel room with a really nice bathroom. :-)
It was a lovely five night stay.
This is a 2 star property, so the front desk not being 24/7 and the lack of services (ie, no bar on site) were expected. My room was great (on par with most four star hotels) and even had a coffee/tea station. Location was great, too! Would definitely consider staying here again next time I am in San Sebastian
Lura on reception was excellent hosts she let us upgrade our room with a small charge well worth it . Best hotel weve had on our spain adventure in two months . The surprise of a lovely dog bed and bowls for our little dog was so thoughtful . Can’t wait to return !
Joseph and Gina treated us like family. Gave amazing recommendations and helped with transportation. It is so close to everything. Short walk to beach and to amazing food. I traveled with my young adult children and this was our favorite stop in Spain.
Beautiful hotel - modern and very comfortable.
Easy walk to the old town and the beach.
Many restaurants nearby plus the hotel restaurant was very good.
Beautiful boutique hotel on the less touristy side of San Sebastián. interesting art throughout and gorgeous vintage furniture. really comfortable bed!
