Le Madeloc Hôtel & Spa, hotel in Collioure

Just 1640 feet from Collioure town center and a 10-minute walk from the beach is Le Madeloc Hôtel & Spa.

Great location, close walk from the train station, as well as the downtown area and beaches. We loved the breakfast option. The hot tub was great, with a good view. The pool said it was heated, but it was pretty chilly for our crew. We didn't end up spending much time in the pool, but did enjoy the hot tub. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

I have been to Collioure several times and I think of it as heaven. I loved all the hotels there I’ve stayed in but Helene has made it home for me. I also love the garden in back. So there are fancier places in Collioure but none that have made me so happy! Plus there breakfast nook is so comfortable!

Location is perfect, right in the middle of Colliure. Parking is OK, although a few hundred metres from the hotel. As everywhere in France, the parking is designed for the 2CV. Trying to park anything bigger is interesting.

Collioure is a beautiful place to visit, there are lots of cafes, restaurants and shops to visit. There are 4 beaches and interesting buildings. Apartment Olive & Kin is a short walk into the town, the apartment is well equipped and comfortable we are already looking to visit again later in the year.

Collioure is an absolutely beautiful coastal French small city, not far north of the Spanish border. As such, it comfortably merges French and Catalan culture which enhances its allure as a tourist destination. As an example, we had tapas on three of our seven nights in Collioure. We also food shopped at a number of local markets, which provided a selection of amazing cheeses, wine, bread, and Spanish hams. The beaches are typical Mediterranean rocky, but the water is gloriously clean and clear.

Very nice little village at the sea.

Very nice little village at the sea. Several beaches, lot of restaurants and shops. Very Catalan, close to the Spanish border. Easy to get around, just walking. Possibility to rent bikes, take a boat trip and a lot more. Nice food with a touch of Spain (Catalan) some regional wines an several winerys to visit. The wine is kind of mineral to taste, not the greatest area in France for wine, but ok.

Once you are in the town and parked then there's no need to go anywhere else for a while. There are plenty of restaurants, a great art museum, good local walks, good beaches and it is neither loud nor too large.

Friends had told us how lovely this beach town is, so we decided to stay a couple days. The town is charming with lovely seaside pebble beaches. The old section of town has many cafes and fine dining restaurants from which to choose. Walking is the best mode of transportation. Driving isn't necessary. Once we arrived, we parked the care and didn't use it again until we left.

Collioure is the most beautiful old fishing village, that has also played host to artists like Matisse, Picasso and Rennie MacIntosh. The beaches are a great base for snorkelling, though some sort of water shoe would be recommended as it is stony not sandy. There is no shortage of places to eat, though we found ourselves often at Cafe Sole for drinks and tapas. Do remember this is a bar that stays open all year round, and do not be offended if the patron appears to favour his regulars over tourists - they are his year round income, tourists are a 2 month boost. He is a pleasant guy with excellent english. Collioure is a place to walk. Parking is not easy, far better to arrive by train.

Our room next to reception was more like a mini suite with shower room & WC a couple of steps down from the main room. Plenty of space with eye catching decor in all the rooms we were able to see. Breakfast was 3* but plentiful and fresh. Nice coffee! The service was exceptional, I heard that the hotel group recruits from ex Air France cabin staff-they all appear to have been business/first class trained as their customer service skills are rarely found these days even in establishments charging much higher prices.

Steps away from great food, drinks, and shops. We didn’t plan it this way but we stayed here on Bastille Day and so had a view out the window to the town square which had a stage and a band — was so much fun. The apartment was clinically clean and oh so comfortable. Really appreciated the dual AC units (visited on some very hot July days). You wouldn’t do this cause there’s so much to do in Collioure, but you could just chill out and relax in this flat all day — it’s that inviting.

The location was incredibly beautiful. The hotel facilities were very nicely done with clean lines and light colors. And the bed was the MOST comfortable. Our 2 favorite meals were in the hotel restaurant. But above all the staff were incredible! Both hotel and restaurant. There was no request that seemed too much for them to handle with a smile. We expected the hotel to be good , but it exceeded our expectations.

The room was a great size, had fabulous views out to the Med and Collioure from the balcony, the bed was very comfortable and the room was well styled. The in-house restaurant served wonderful food with great views, the hotel terrace had an amazing view over Collioure with steps down into the Med - fabulous for a refreshing swim and the hotel was well located within walking distance of everything. We will return.

We love this hotel. It's right in the heart of Collioure. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room looked out on the main walkway to the beach and we could see the water from the balcony. It's within walking distance to everything in the main center of the town. The painitings are very interesting and the bar is a great place to have a drink.

Excellent location on a mainly pedestrian road in the centre of old Collioure, ten minutes walk from the station, less from the nearest beach and harbour, with a boulangerie almost opposite and good pizza place a few doors along. This is a roughly N/NW facing flat so keeps relatively cool, even with the shutters open. The flat was very clean and comfortable.

The position of the hotel suited me ideally and I was glad I had paid for a balcony and seaview. I have always adored Collioure and know it well ….the break by the sea and the walks will ‘keep me going’ through the harsh winter in the Lot et Garonne.
