Our stay at the Burleigh Court Hotel exceeded the (already high) expectations we had for our trip to the Cotswolds. Stroud is quite a big town in Gloucestershire and, as such, it has all of the shops and amenities one would expect. Plus, with a taxi rank, train station and frequent bus services to/from Cheltenham and Gloucester, among other places, the town is well connected. I would recommend it as a base from which to explore Gloucestershire.

Vibrant, friendly and historic town full of stylish places to eat and drink, unique gift shops surrounded by beautiful countryside. Local bus service was also very reliable on the Saturday ( well - better than my own at home anyway!). Public toilets in the town were clean and convenient. I was on my own but felt safe even at nighttime. Would recommend the indoor market, Stroud Bookshops, as well as Cornflower and Calico for kitchenware gifts. The Coffee House and Curio Lounge Cafe Bar were great places to visit as well.

Stroud is only 2 miles from the home of my childhood & youth 58-74 It the focal point of 5 Valleys all beautiful every season. The whole area is protected, as are the Cotswolds and its a must stay. Well connected by the train and buses with a labyrinth of country lanes and greenery for car travellers. A canal and lots of old industrial history, once a main centre of the SW England WOOL TRADE, it remains rich with villages pubs restaurants, hill top views and lowland vales, many clear for 20 to 30 miles 360 degrees, a paradise to behold

Cosy cottage, located in the centre of Painswick. Perfect for relaxing indoors and for getting out and about exploring the village and surrounding areas. A well equipped kitchen included complimentary bread, butter and eggs which was a nice touch. Bedrooms very comfy and a good size. Large bathroom with bath and separate shower. Overall..it's clean and nicely presented while being easy to make yourself at home and not feel like guests.

We really liked the apartment, it's very spacious, clean and well presented. Very quirky inside with lots of different levels and rooms, and the two full bathrooms (one with bath and one with shower) were very useful. The Old Fleece pub/restaurant next door, was fantastic. The food was wonderful and the staff so friendly. There are some lovely walks in the area.

Excellent town centre location. Stroud is hilly, but within a couple of 100 yards and on the flat, you have tourist advice, library, all major banks, Wetherspoons, train station, Poundland, Wilko, Iceland and a food court. Waitrose is a little bit further, but still on the flat. Spacious. I had flat 4, with 3 rooms plus kitchen. Would definitely sleep 6.

Well-situated in a heritage area, close to the town centre, public transport and other local services. Comfortable, warm flat with quiet neighbours, good facilities and pleasing views to the hills and Severn Vale. Particularly liked the canal-themed photos on the walls. Provided a welcoming 'second home' during my stay.

We liked the location and having the cottage to ourselves with a kitchen. We appreciated all the thoughtful touches, such as milk, fresh eggs and some grocery items. There was also information on things to do in the area. The grounds were lovely with beautiful flower gardens. Some members of the family enjoyed the hot tub.
