Great traditional sea side town full of everything a family would need for a good holiday.
So many kinds of take away food, restaurants and chippies. Brilliant choice of shops for all tastes.
Steam train trips. Boat trips and crabbing in the small harbour.
Very long sandy beech and beautiful walks to be had along the bay and cliffs.
Bird watchers will enjoy the bird colonies along the cliffs.

Out of season Swanage is still charming.
Out of season Swanage is still charming. Small enough to walk round, but large enough to have a variety of shops and eateries. The Salt Pig was good for eating in. You can walk the coast path amongst other walks.

we only had two full days in Swanage in the middle of November, so our experience was not typical, We did look to drive into the town and park on the road by the side of the seafront, however the parking charge of £4.30 for the first hour put us off, who wants to benefit from 3 hours at £7.00 in November. As we didn't use the town car parks we cannot comment on the charges in them.
My husband has bad knees so we didn't park and walk around the town but there did seem to be some interesting little, individual shops as we drove through, We found Corfe Castle a delight to visit, especially the NT tea shop! We hope to go back.

I've stayed in Swanage several times and this reflects my like of Swanage and the surrounding area.
The Town / beach / numerous eating options / the compact layout of the Town makes it easy to navigate. Also great walks in and around Swanage for short strolls or longer treks.
Can't say I would have anywhere that I would avoid on subsequent visits.

Additional extra charges for dogs were not included in my initial expectations. I specifically looked for pet-friendly accommodations, assuming that the listed price would cover any potential pet fees. However, I was disappointed to discover that there was an additional £30 charge for my two teacup dogs.
The prices for meals were exceedingly high, considering that the quality and taste were not particularly impressive.

Swanage is a compact seaside town but with the added advantage of an excellent bus service and the Swanage steam railway. The beach is clean and sandy. There are boat trips from the pier during the summer. A good selection of shops not just seaside souvenirs . Plenty of choices for evening meals and snacks.
This apartment is in a superb location, on the ground floor, and just a few minutes walk to the beach, parks, amusements, town centre and of course, the great Swanage Railway station. It includes 2 free parking spaces - which are essential for this town in summer. The kitchen area is brand new and everything works smoothly. Jo was very helpful and quick to respond to guide us on a few initial queries to get us settled in. Would certainly consider returning.
We had a fab week staying at Arbour House B&B. Fraser and Sarah are great hosts and made us feel very welcome.
The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious and the breakfast was very tasty with a great selection to choose from.
The B&B is in a great position within a few minutes walk of the beautiful sandy Swanage beach.
We will definitely be back soon.
Thank you Fraser and Sarah x
Oozing old-fashioned elegance, this is the best situated hotel in Swanage. Staff are friendly and welcoming There are fantastic views from the restaurant and the garden. Downstairs small sauna, swimming pool and jacuzzi. I took the stairs down to the beach and had a dip in the sea and did the same again in the morning before check-out. Perfect!
Location great to explore the countryside and not too fat to walk to town. Overllooking the sea and beach was lovely. Great breakfast. Excellent quality, piping hot, plenty of choice. All staff super friendly and helpful. We took our bikes and explored around swanage and Studland to see more. For us everything was perfect and we will return.
Great welcome from the host. Lovely large and airy house and our room (1) had large windows letting in lots of light. Breakfast was superb and generous - very hot cooked to order! Location was fine - out of Swanage centre but a pleasant walk along the beachfront to get to the town's facilities. Quiet with no traffic noise at night.
The flat was spotless, good location and lovely for the owners to leave tea/coffee/milk/bics to get you started and a bottle of wine. So considerate of them to supply condiments and cooking oil etc. so you didn't have to take everything with you.
Excellent location so adjacent to all Swanage's attractions.
The house was a home away from home, our host was very friendly and attentive. Everything you could need for a comfortable and memorable stay was provided we will definitely be returning in the New year and recommending this home to our family and friends.
Great location! Best thing was being able to walk straight onto footpaths with our dog. Nice countryside all around. Very easy to keep the cottage clean, ideal for four people. Comfy beds. Dog friendly. Lots to do in the area without having to drive far.
Great location with only a short walk to the town centre, beach & local convenience store.
Lovely touches with milk, tea, biscuits & doggy treats for our pups first holiday away from home!
Honestly cannot fault & will recommend to others.
A traditional hotel in a great location for the beach and amenities in Swanage. It sits in an impressive Victorian building with its own garden space and is a few minutes walk from the beach, town centre shops and steam railway in Swanage.
The hotel is easy to find in a great position for the beach & town. Easy parking & book in.
The room was lovely, clean, pretty, comfortable with everything we needed.
The breakfast was amazing, best we’ve ever had in a B & B
Thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel. Great location in centre of Swanage. Good restaurants nearby. 5 mins from beach. The family room was big & clean. Friendly helpful staff & great breakfast. Excellent value for money
The location was beautiful with the hotel on the sea front and a small walk down onto the beach via hotel stair case, 10-15 minute walk to swanage bay with lovely places to eat for good money
Location good - in the centre of Swanage and parking provided. The quality and cleanliness of the accommodation was excellent. And you can see the sea! Very spacious and luxurious.
Very well located, nearby SPAR and could get to Swanage beachfront in less than 10min. The place was comfortable, kitchen was in good working order, and the beds were super comfy!
Very well equipped kitchen, good space and lovely additions such as wine, biscuits, milk and crisps on arrival. The flat was close to the beach and near the centre of Swanage.
Everything was clean and functioning. Location is right inside swanage town. Sea view from apartment was perfect. Owner communicates super well and quick.
