The setting and hotel was beautiful. Unfortunately the staff level of experience in hospitality and food itself didn’t match the level of the hotel itself. We were expecting to be able to stay in the hotel and enjoy the tranquility since it was in an isolated location and not much around but because the food offering was so limited and frankly not of a high standard we ended up having to travel out each day. This was of course still lovely to do but not what we planned for this part of the holiday. If we intended to leave each night we would have chosen accomodation nearer to a busier town or somewhere of walking distance so we could have a wine with dinner and not drive!
Masseria Fabrizio is set in a restored country manor of the early 20th century. It offers free parking, and is 3 km from Otranto, and 3 km from Baia Dei Turchi beach.

It is a very nice little city with lots of restaurants and bars for any kind of public. The sea has a wonderful colour, it is super clean (at least while we were there) and behind the lighthouse there is a super beach with rocks, it looks simply GREAT.

We enjoyed walking around the town and beach area.
We enjoyed walking around the town and beach area. We travelled to the Bauxite Lake which was nearby and hiked around it and then down to the ocean. A highlight was going south and swimming in the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. We hired a boat for the two of us for 3 hours for 60 Euros. It was absolutly amazing and the grotto's were beautiful. The water color was just amazing! A highlight of our trip to southern Italy.

It is a really attractive town, with pretty streets, a castle and a lovely old cathedral. The cathedral has some spectacular Byzantine floor mosaics. In grim contrast, the Martyrs Chapel contains the bones of 800 Christians massacred by the Turks in 1480. We spent an enjoyable couple of hours exploring and ended up for a good mojito and beer on the front.

Very interesting old town, beautiful castle and churches, etc.
The old part of town is full of charm and pleasant to strall around. Eating on the sea front, watching the boats come and go, real relaxing holiday.
The surroundings also offer possibilities to visit impressive caves and the famous cava de bauxite.
Loved everything about Altair. The accommodation is spotless clean, well equipped and spacious, all the staff but especially Claudio and Andrea go above and beyond their duties to make your stay enjoyable.
The pool area is so tranquil, spotless clean, beautiful setting for relaxing before or after some sightseeing. Otranto is a beautiful town, we will be back.
For a stay in September a car is essential to explore the beautiful region.
So much to love about this place. The showers, bed and facilities were amazing. The pool was so clean and beautiful to swim in. The breakfast every morning was deliciously prepared. The rooms were cleaned everyday and so spacious to relax in with balcony to accompany. The people were the best though, Aldo gave us lots of information and recommendations and made us feel part of his family. If you’re coming to Otranto you must stay here.
This was the best B&B's we have ever stayed in. Nana and Franco were wonderful hosts- welcoming, friendly and very kind. The breakfast was amazing like in 5* hotel, but with Nana's home made cakes and tarts... it was even better.
The rooms are spacious, modern and extremely clean. Location is great -an easy 5-10 minute walk to beaches and the historical old town.
Thank you Nana and Franco, it was a pleasure to stay with you!
Host (Domenico & Erika) were absolutely fantastic and made this our most memorable stay during our 2 week tour across Apulia. They were very welcoming and provided a wealth of information about Otranto and the region. The room had all required amenities and the breakfast was delicious. Domenico introduced us to the local specialty, caffe Leccese. B&B is only minutes away from the beach.
The architectural design of this hotel is exceptional. Lovely staff were so helpful arranging covid tests for return journey. The pool is huge and never too busy which was a big win for us! Otranto is an easy 10 minute stroll with beautiful shops and loads of restaurants (>40 restaurants). Salento is a beautiful place and we can’t wait to return back to Basiliani in future!
Beautifully laid out Hotel, with individual ground floor apartments, I loved the lay out of each apartment, some overlooked the pool, others had their own little garden with outdoor seating area. The pool was beautiful and never crowded, plenty of loungers. A short 8 - 10minute walk to the beautiful town of Otranto.
Luigi, the person in charge, is a very helpful and sympathetic person.
The room is simple, but got everything you need, a beautiful view to the sea and the park, at a few steps to the "lungomare", restaurants, cafés and shops.
We spent 4 nights and had a great time
I hardly recommend Balcone su Otranto.
We loved the location, the modern decor, however simple in general, it passed the idea of nice and clean. The room was not big, compared to other hotels, but we spend most of the time visiting the area. The staff arranged a great private boat tour to the area. I'd certainly come back here.
Very nice hotel, close to the city centre (you can reach all restaurant and cafe with a short walk) and has a free parking which is very hard to find in the city. Staff was super kind and attentive, and they offer a good breakfast following best practices to prevent spread of COVID-19.
We loved this hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The hotel has a lovely roof terrace with great views. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I felt at home, as soon was we arrived there. The breakfast was the best I have had in Italy!!! Highly recommended!!
The breakfast was probably the best we had during our trip in Puglia.
The hosts make you feel at home right away and are very attentive
The room was very spacious and properly equipped
The location is very calm but also convenient for Otranto and the Alimini lakes
The apartment was very comfortable and the ability to get free bikes from their property to ride around Puglia was a game-changer for our trip. Very handy, very helpful and allowed us to go to several beaches without having to find taxis and spend extra money.
The facilities are great. Everything is new, clean and comfortable. Good privacy. Helpful and kind host that gives you good tips for your stay. Only a couple of km from Otranto. Easy parking. Simple but good breakfast. It was a great stay.
The best thing about this property was its excellent property manager Giuseppe. The property was perfectly located with very easy access to all things Otranto.
It offers great value.
It was an oasis of calm in the middle of the Italian countryside. The breakfasts were the best we have have in our three weeks in Italy and the staff were so friendly and helpful.
great location, just beside the magnificent cathedral .
Beautiful room with a very nice terrace. all staff members did their best to make it a most enjoyable stay for us.
Beautiful small hotel on the sea - perfect location in the Centro of Otranto. Terrace overlooking the harbor for breakfast and relaxing was a highlight.
