Spacious and clean room, renovated hotel, bustling area with all kind of shops and restaurants. But also so quiet at night, great for a good sleep. The room was amazingly low cost, great quality for the price and regardless.

I was on business travel and could have picked either Amman or Madaba for my stay. I like Madaba much better since it is not as busy and vast as Amman, everything I need (restaurants, shops) is in walking distance to the hotel (5 to 10 mins). Madaba also has some sights like old churches and historical mosaiqes worth visiting. In my view, for pure touristic reasons, two days in Madaba might be sufficient, but for me as a business traveller, I like the town very much to spend my evenings. Madaba can also be used as a starting place for excursions into the surrounding (Mount Nebo, Jordan valley, Amman etc.).

Other than the popular attractions, Madaba is a great place to stay at the begenning or end of one's Jordan trip as it is close to Queen Alia airport (closer than Amman).
It is also a better shopping experience (for arab/muslim clothing) than Amman, as driving inside Madaba is much easier than Amman. Prices seemed to be better as well.

Madaba is one of the most interesting places in Jordan and the good news is that it's not that touristy! The typical Middle Eastern city with its busy life, colourful streets and simple vibe, is the christian stamp of Middle East - it's a remarkable dialogue between the most important empires that ruled there - nabatheans, romans, bizantines, islamic, and it's covered with the most impressive mosaics.
It's a great city to feel the true Jordanian vibe with all its hospitality, joyfulness and historical interest - without tourist traps.

Take a little time to discover this city which is worth more than just visiting the church and Mount Nebo. We have spent a very nice evening in a restaurant we found during our visit. Unexpected and memorable!

Very friendly people and fantastic places to visit, including the mosaic museum. Great place to relax by shopping in the bazaar and eating on the street. The city looks safe and people are very friendly and supportive! Places that must be visited are Saint George Church, Saint John Church, Archeological Museum, and Mosaic Museum. Enjoy fantastic meals and restaurant services after souvenirs shopping.

I think the price is fair and the accommodation in total...
I think the price is fair and the accommodation in total okay. The staff was excellent (!!) but pls don’t expect more than easiest standard. I wished to have a bed light and a little more comfortable beds.
But, Samar and his wife who spoke English well were super-friendly prepared dinner and opened the gate at 4am!
(What I found semi-pleasant was that the gate was closed after my arrival (8pm) and no chance to get out of the premises.)
The Black Iris Hotel is a place that gives the impression that finishing touches are everything. It is an exceptionally comfortable place to stay, with a wonderful breakfast, a warm, welcoming staff (Safa is a delight), and very high standards of cleanliness. Of all the places I have stayed in Jordan, this one seems the most oriented toward European and American tourists’ tastes. It is close to the airport and convenient to Amman for those who have a car. This is my go-to hotel for future stays in the country.
They were a bit slow each morning to get the breakfast ready but I really liked the scrambled eggs and waffles. The location is very nice across from St. George’s Church but note that you have to find a place a few blocks from the hotel where you can park your car. The room was very small but comfortable, and it matched my expectations given the low price they charge. You will pay about 2X higher nightly price and the bigger hotels in central Madaba.
The hotel is very well located with a big spacious room that is perfectly suitable for 2-3 nights. It also has a fridge and a balcony. What was awesome however, was the exceptionally kind staff (especially Omar and Girias) whom we had most contact with and helped us a lot in making feel comfortable and at home while also having very good tips on what to do in and around Madaba. Thank you very much!!
Super friendly people and a nice garden area outside. We were on the 3rd floor, they have an elevator. Our room was clean, cozy and the rate was super fair. There is a Pizza spot and a Cafe at the corner of the street. Mount Nebo is just 15min and St. Georg's Cathedrale just 5min by car. The location is perfect for a short stay in Madaba. We can really recommend Salome Hotel.
Great location to explore Madaba from, offering free parking was appreciated, the room was lovely and spacious, the best thing of all was the staff - the owner checked us in and was so warm, friendly, and welcoming, he gave us coffee and a sweet upon checkin and also packaged up a small breakfast for us to take to the airport as our flight upon departure was quite early.
This is a very nice hotel: a friendly, personal reception and they will gladly help you with any questions or problems you might have. The rooms are very spacious, as is the bathroom.
The breakfast is too extensive for this price category :-)
It's very nicely located (short walking distance) from the interesting areas in Madaba.
The hotel is in an excellent location for accessing Madaba old town and also the surrounding areas. Our room was large and had a seating area which was a nice touch. It’s a family run hotel and everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The food was amazing! I would definitely stay here again.
Edward and his mother made an already wonderful hotel even better. So personable and helpful. They made you feel like family. Exceptional breakfasts prepared by Edward’s mother. Immaculate, comfortable and well-located with free parking for our rental car. Highly recommend without reservation and would stay again in a heartbeat.
Rooms are big and clean. Staff is very friendly and location is very convenient. All tourist attractions are within walking distance. Breakfast was ok, not great but nothing to complain about. Also the hotel cats are just too cute. Would recommend this lovely hotel when you're in Madaba.
MiaDabia Supreme was a perfect place to stay in Madaba. Is really near from the airport. Communication with Alaa was great. Everything was ready and prepared for us. Parking is also fine near the appartment. Place was really clean and well equiped. It had everything we needed. Thank you.
I had a wonderful short stay at St John Hotel. The staff were all absolutely lovely, and extreme helpful. The hotel is in a great location for visiting the historic sites of Madaba, and has a wonderful restaurant on the top floor. I only wish I could have stayed for longer.
When we arrived they welcomed us with welcome juice and some cookies ,the room was clean and the view was osome ...staff was very welcomed and the breakfast was good.we hope to see you again Jordan and Madaba hotel .I like the country and the place where I stay .
Everything was wonderful from the moment we walked into the hotel. Jammal was exceptional and suggested a driver for our trip into Amman the following morning.
Great location, lovely staff, amazing breakfast, and comfy furnishings. Very good value.
Very good airy hotel with clean and quite modern rooms (could sleep 4 if you wanted) with wifi.
Gave you a map of Madaba with highlights on arrival. Not far from the central attractions.
A private car park just around the back.
The hotel was located in the very heart of Madaba, on the opposite side of St George’s Church. The staff was really friendly and helpful, they waited for us after 11 pm when we arrived. The view from the rooftop was stunning.
Edward and his family made us feel so welcome! The hotel was right in the centre of Madaba - within walking distance of all the sights. Edward went out of his way to help us in any way he could. Couldn’t recommend more!
Well located in the centre of Madaba with a parking opportunity in front of the hotel (24h free). The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Not super cosy and modern, but for the price it is worth it.
Our room was quiet and clean. The breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is located at the heart of Madaba with a free parking space which is very convenient. We recommend without hesitation!
