This small hotel is Cosy and clean. It's in the best location of the city, easy to get around by local taxis. Amazing restaurants around too. It's not far away from the Medina, which is amazing! The best part was the food. I give that 5 star! Moroccan breakfast, large portions with great selections. One more thing, we booked and went in to check in immediately, they were so accommodating they let us check in earlier!

This is a fabulous Riad in Meknes. Stunningly beautiful behind a huge wooden door. Amazing terrace views, where we ate a delicious breakfast. Being a Riad location is spot on.

Don't believe the online videos or guidebooks that say that the whole of Meknes is a building site! While there is a lot of renovation going on, there are still marvelous things to see and do. The medina is very interesting and comes with very little hassling. Its worth taking a day trip - or longer - to the mid Atlas mountains.

I didn't enjoy Meknès itself that much but I would certainly recommend visiting the partially restored Roman city ruins of Volubilis. It's about a 45 mins drive up the mountains. Keep your speed limited to 60 km/h though as there are a lot of police speed traps! It costs 70 dh to enter the grounds and around 200 dh to get a guide to show you around (mine spoke excellent English).

We only stayed 1 night to see Volubulis.
We only stayed 1 night to see Volubulis. We should have stayed longer. The vendors had quality merchandise and prices were by far better than Fes and Marrakech. Our hosts were very hospitable. The room was comfortable and beautiful. This town is the real heart of Morocco.

Many attractions are covered up, undergoing constructions.
Many attractions are covered up, undergoing constructions. Not much to do here for 3;days.
Medina: alleys are dusty, lots of cats poop along the way. Cats roaming these alleys look dirty and sickly.
Better Options: Stay in Fes and just travel to Meknes for a day to see some attractions. Train ride to Meknes is only 28 dirhams one way. Option 2 - stay in a riad in Meknes for 1 day.

Relatively relaxed and hassle free.
Relatively relaxed and hassle free. A lot of renovation is going on (September 2023) so some monuments and museums are closed. The Jamai museum is excellent. Nearby Volubilis is also well worth a visit. Fez is roughly an hour away by car/bus/train so an easy day trip.

Meknes is going thorough significant change and...
Meknes is going thorough significant change and refurbishment - especially the medina and square. The souk are no longer traditional - they are markets catering to local people. The city clearly has some fantastic history and the Riad we stayed in was part of that but I didn’t see enough attraction for more than a very short visit. If you are visited Volobulis, I would recommend staying in Moulay Iddriss instead.
Really enjoyed our stay here! It's a beautiful riad in a great location, from which you can easily explore Meknes, or get yourself lost in the streets of Medina. The couple running the riad is absolutely lovely and very helpful, they gave us good tips on the trip and generally we enjoyed talking to them learning about Meknes and Morocco. Can definitely recommend the stay here.
This place is absolutely amazing!! Juliette and her staff were so friendly and extremely helpful! We really felt at home! The water pressure and hot water was the best weve had in Morocco. The breakfast was delicious! The Riad is stunning! Every inch of it is a work of art. I took so many pictures of both inside and the roof top terrase!!
Both hanane and Jihan are so kind and open minded/ open hearted. Whatever you need, they will assist. The riad itself is very peaceful, which I came to Meknes to escape the high energy of fes.
Towels are provided, as well as soap shampoo etc. I love that the kitchen is open for guests to use. This is a huge plus!
I live in Morocco, and this is one of the coolest, best places I have stayed. You are transported to another era here. The bed was very comfortable, of course the staff was great - and a nice hot shower. There was no sounds from the medina that night, and the breakfast and coffee were terrific. A serious hidden gem.
The hotel is really beautiful. Rachid and his family were really kind and welcoming! The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. We loved our room, the roof and the breakfast was wow! The value for money is excellent.
Really recommend to go there and we would defiantly come back there of we were in Meknes again!
Muhammad and Fatima were really nice hosts. Muhammad told us tales about Meknes history and entertained us with his guitar. Fatima cooked a great breakfast! I would really recommend this Hotel, just a few minutes away from the main square, gate and museums.
Exceptionally preserved riad with an rooftop terrace
with amazing views. It is located at walking distance of
all tourists sites in Meknes. The staff is very accommodating
and friendly. The optional vegetarian diner we ordered was
very memorable.
It was a clean, basic hotel with a nice central location. Towards the end of my trip I really appreciate the hotels not in the medina but reasonably close (I had a car rental and parking was always an issue, however not in this case)
Super kind staff, wonderful terrace, very very nice breakfast.
I forgot some stuff in my room when we left, they called me and keeped that for me, really nice people.
They also gave us hints for visting and shopping in Meknes
Great location! Amazing large unit, well furnished, super clean, comfortable like a luxury hotel, and the host is kind, friendly, helpful and professional. He drove us around the city and gave us personalized tour for FREE!
Small city of Meknes, really nice beedroom for the price, see photos, private bathroom, Salah was really nice answering all my questions, we had nice chats during my stay, always willing to help you.
Would come back
Breakfast superceded all the breakfasts I had in similar Riads in three weeks in Morocco with thought through details, quality, quantity and just everything. Location was fantastic as well. Room was nice and clean.
The Riad Atika is an amazing place place to stay, it has the most beautiful terraces I saw in Morocco and it was fantastic to learn about the history of the building.
Plus the breakfast, which is really good.
Good location in the medina. Nice rooftop, and great wifi,. Staff is kind and helpful. The style of the house is very authentic, you have to stay in a house like this, if you're in Morocco.
If you go to Meknès don't even thing about it.
It is the perfect place. Beautiful and well located. But overall the owner is a fantastic person, very friendly and helpful.
Thanks
Beautiful room and the rooftop terrace was great. Good location in the Medina and you can see the palace walls from the terrace. Pretty easy to find for a Medina hotel too.
