(The front desk woman was beyond wonderful…and I adored the personal note left in the room on arrival). Rooms look out onto a private verandah, perfect for catching a glimpse of the sunrise over the nearby reserve. It’s easy to walk from the light rail stop to the Grand. There are several eateries nearby as well. Hunter St Mall is a mess with construction, but not a sound can be heard at the hotel. A menu item that may not remain on the list, sadly, is the lightly pickled peach with farro & feta over a bed of baby arugula. And this is a safe & welcoming place for a single female traveler.
