Beaches is a small family-run guest house featuring a large private garden with gated access to Ayr’s sandy beach. It's set just 5 minutes’ walk from Ayr’s centre with its shopping, dining, and nightlife.

Every room was different and extremely clean, and anytime I thought I needed something it was right at hand. All the restaurants were nearby to walk to. The nearby park for kids was perfect. The cheerful owner had a fluffy companion that we got to cuddle. This home would be a great place to stay for several days.

A 10-minute walk from Ayr Train Station, this guest house has bedrooms with free Wi-Fi and is well located for the town centre, beach and golf courses.

Inverlea Guest House is elegant and modern and serves a full Scottish breakfast, with vegetarian options. There are many restaurants in the local area.

The perfect place to stay! We were warmly welcomed as soon as we rang the bell, by both Liz and Douglas. We arrived to find a gift from a previous guest left on the doorstep, which I took as a very good sign! The house is immaculate, it’s cosy and quiet, it even smells wonderful. We were given an option of 2 rooms and Douglas got us set up in the one we picked, even bringing our luggage up. The rooms are well set up with lovely beds, good internet, a nice tv and a great shower. And all the pillows you could ever need. Breakfast was excellent, and there was a pretty wide selection of choices. The house is right next door to a fab restaurant, and it’s not a far walk to other good food options and the rest of town. A ten minute walk finds you at the beach.

Set within a stunning conservation area of Victorian and Georgian townhouses, this family-run guest house is ideally located within 2 minutes’ walk from the beach. There is free Wi-Fi.

Each room has an en suite shower room, a flat-screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities and cookies.

My sister and I stayed for a couple of days in April and absolutely loved it. We found the owners to be very nice and extremely helpful. The double room was clean and really comfortable (especially the big, comfy bed), and even though the room wasn't big, it was more than adequate for me and my sister. The area is beautiful, and located really close to the sea, so it definitely is a great place to start a day. I definitely recommend this place :)

A warm welcome awaits you at this privately owned 4-star hotel, a fully restored and refurbished Victorian mansion house situated on Ayr's seafront, recapturing the essence of country house hospitality.

Our stay was excellent as the property has oversized rooms with views of the Coast. There was a large indoor swimming pool with hot tub and sauna as well as a nice workout area.

During your stay, you can enjoy friendly personal service and traditional home made food. Plenty of free parking with security lighting and a 24-hour night porter service are available to make things easier.

The staff were really lovely and very welcoming, breakfast was lovely and the setting really nice. My bedroom was a great size and the view amazing. The other bedrooms (where doors were open and not in use - I did have a look) looked fab and were huge

In the oldest part of town, just 2 minutes' walk from Ayr's sandy beach and the town centre, this charming, family-run hotel offers lovely rooms, tasty Scottish breakfasts and free Wi-Fi and parking.

Next to Ayr's historic St John's Tower, the Arrandale Hotel is just a short stroll from the seafront esplanade, with its wonderful views of Ailsa and Arran. The bus station is just a 2-minute walk away and Ayr Railway Station is less than 10 minutes' walk from the hotel.

Linda is an exceptional and caring host and a nice person - it was a pleasure to chat with her about the region, the sights etc. I really enjoyed my time at the Arrandale! I had a small single bedroom which had all the essentials and a sink plus an external but private bathroom. Everything was neat and clean, the breakfast was good, there is a common area/living room downstairs and it's only a very short walk to the coast. Absolute recommendation!

We actually got an upgrade on arrival, originally booked Courthouse rooms, we stayed in the main hotel. It is a beautiful building and the interior design is so respectful of the age of the property. Our room was large and spacious and met all our requirements. We had dinner on the first night really good menu with plenty of choice. Breakfast the first morning was table service and buffet the second due to more guests in the hotel.

The views are amazing and with a short walk to the beach the location was too. The apartment looks like it's been done by an interior designer. We were very impressed.

Lovely home in great location. It is beautifully designed and has all the facilities you would need when staying in an apartment. Very clean interior. Loved staying here and having everything on your doorstep...bars, restaurants, supermarkets and easy to park nearby- as advised by the hosts. Easy and clear instructions on how to check in and check out. Would definitely stay again if back in the area. Thank you, Iain.

Lovely and friendly place to stay. Jan and Kirsty could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The premises are immaculate and so well presented. Our room , room 5 , was beautiful and really well furnished, equipped and comfortable. The bathroom was really special and so well designed. Home made shortbread biscuits and a proper coffee machine are lovely touches. Breakfast was all freshly cooked and of top quality...served so cheerfully by Jan! Most definitely recommend highly Even Harris , the Golden Retriever was so friendly.

We received such a lovely warm welcome from the owner. Our room was just superb - immaculately clean, very stylish and comfortable with stunning sea views. Breakfasts were freshly cooked, generous and absolutely delicious. The owner, Jan, was the perfect host and is a lovely, warm hearted person (with a great sense of humour!). And the homemade shortbread is the best ever.

I’ve stayed in countless 5 star & boutique hotels, but they could all learn the meaning of ‘immaculate rooms’ & ‘great service’ from the Retreat at The Knowe Auchincruive Estate! Perfect venue & location for walks in the country or along the coast - my stay wasn’t long enough! Annie the host, was absolutely lovely & highly knowledgeable about the Ayrshire area! She couldn’t do enough, and the breakfast was fab! I will definitely return!
