The Golden Lion Hotel has welcomed guests, including royalty, for more than 200 years. The Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote a poem on a hotel window frame, a plaque commemorating this is situated on the hotel’s front. Located in Stirling city centre, it has free parking, a traditional bar and a restaurant serving Scottish beef and lamb.

Great location, charming facilities. I like to think I had the same views as Robert Burns when he stayed here.

Built in 1854, this hotel was once the High School of Stirling. Less than 10 minutes’ walk from the city’s historic castle, it has an AA Rosette-awarded restaurant and free parking.

The award-winning Scholars Restaurant serves traditional and international gourmet cuisine. Guests can also enjoy a range of drinks in the Headmaster’s Study Bar.

We only stayed for one night, on our return trip, so I had not much expectation, but it was really a nice stay. The breakfast buffet was diverse and of good quality, the room was cosy, the car park convenient, and the gym facility, despite being small, a nice addition. The staff was really professional and helpful. If you fancy dreaming in a castle, that's definitely the one to chose!

Located within 10 acres of landscaped grounds, the Victorian-style Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro Hotel offers breathtaking views of the Trossachs. The hotel features a leisure centre and stylish restaurant.

The luxury rooms each have a 32-inch LED TV. All rooms feature a designer bed and WiFi access, and some have wonderful views of the Perthshire countryside.

Stayed here many times because it always meets my expectations. Reception welcome is always good but Sophie was really helpful with finding me a room near the lift. I am a Hilton Honors member but staff are helpful to everyone. The beds are just so comfortable and housekeeping is very good. Restaurant food is delicious but I ate in the bar this visit, Fish and Chips to die for. Breakfast is fit for a King with an a absolutely fantastic choice of cooked- a true Scottish fare, or a good choice Continental. Great place to stay for visiting all sights around Stirling but Dunblane Cathedral is really worth a visit. Highly recommend.

The rooms are decorated by a professional interior designer, amazing and still very cosy. The bathrooms are deluxe. And the decor around the whole property is wow. The bar/ restaurant was fab - great food and drinks. More like a big, cosy dinning room. And the people are wonderful.

Gorgeous boutique hotel. My room was the single and though small it had a double bed and was beautifully presented. Dinner was a lovely experience with drink and canapés in the lounge followed by a superb meal. Breakfast was also very good. Will definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

A beautifully designed house, lovely windows, roomy bathroom which is rare in UK, excellant position with very pretty walk into town. Laura's restaurant recommendation and booking for us was super and she went out of her way to give us a packed breakfast even though we left very early. 5 stars!
