We used the Philippos Hotel as a stopping point on the way to the north. The location is ideal, with easy access to the port and shopping. Car parking was free, although the hotel has three parking bays right outside, but all were taken. Thanassis was on duty that evening, and Katerina the next morning, and both were friendly and knowledgeable, with excellent English.

We loved the location, the view of the city of Volos was very clear and the river below the hotel was the only sound we could here. It is such a serene place and the rest here feels like being in a dream. The breakfast was amazing! Homemade, fresh and so delicious! Everyone of the staff was very polite, attentive and helpful.

My recent stay at the apartment in Makrinitsa was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with impeccable cleanliness that left a lasting impression. What truly stood out, however, was the warmth and kindness of the staff, particularly the patriarch of the family. Their genuine hospitality made me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay. The breakfast provided was not only ample but also delicious, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. It was evident that the hosts took great care in ensuring their guests were well-fed and satisfied. In terms of value for money, this accommodation surpassed expectations. The quality of service and amenities provided far exceeded what one would expect for the price paid. However, it's important to note that the route to the property poses a bit of a challenge. The roads leading to Makrinitsa from Volos have been damaged by the floods of 2023, making them potentially hazardous. I would strongly advise future visitors to seek guidance from local authorities regarding the safest route before embarking on their journey. Despite this inconvenience, I am already looking forward to returning to this charming retreat. The exceptional service, combined with the idyllic surroundings of Makrinitsa, make it a destination worth revisiting. Overall, my experience was truly memorable, and I wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway in the area.

Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. Swimming pool was a nice bonus and it’s open till 20:00 which is good.

everything was perfect! the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the home made breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious, the location was excellent to explore the villages, the room was sparkling clean and the view from our room balcony was just stunning! we had such a great experience! thank you!
