The capital of Lower Saxony, beautiful Hanover has been so thoughtfully planned that you can’t tell it was largely destroyed in World War II. The city is full of green spaces, one of which is by huge Maschsee lake where sailors and rowers share the waters with pedaloes. In winter you may be able to skate there. A smaller lake in the Maschpark closer to the centre reflects the grand New Town Hall overlooking it.
The Old Town Hall is in the Old Town where half-timbered buildings were brought from all areas of the city during rebuilding. The square behind hosts one of the Hanover Christmas markets. The others are on Kröpcke pedestrian shopping street, and in front of the station, where the city’s main shopping centre - Ernst August Gallerie – is located.
To the north are the incredible, landscaped Herrenhausen Gardens – awash with colour for much of the year. This area gives its name to the local pilsener – Herrenhäuser. Also here are colourful sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle, whose work is also displayed in the Sprengel modern art museum.
Set in an Expo City and host of many festivals, the accommodation in Hanover can get booked up quickly, so choose yours on Booking.com soon after booking your flight to Hanover Airport.

I didn't expect much from the city, but it turned out to be amazing! It is clean, quiet, comfortable and beautiful. I liked the red line on the pedestrian roads that connects all the landmarks and guides you while walking - it's a perfect option for such lazy tourists like me who don't like to prepare a must-see list in advance 😁
Food - for meat lovers, I would recommend the Afgan restaurant "Masa". You won't regret 👌
The shopping area is located right near the train station - there are quite many shops.

Hannover is a typical German city with a pleasant city center where shops remain open until the evening. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The main draw seems to be the Hannover Messe events. If you're seeking peace and quiet, Hannover might fit the bill, but some may find it a bit boring.

I liked that Hannover city has limited traffic around the main railway station where only of buses, taxis and bicycles move quite slowly. The roads can be crossed easily, no rushing. Also, where traffic lights are for pedestrians, the green light is coming very soon after touching the button. Public transport is excellent - always in close proximity with multiple choices, moving exactly, except the buses which sometimes delay. The town is very clean.

If Hannover turly is, as is often heard, the most boring city in Germany, it makes me want to explore more of what Germany has to offer. I mean, how nice must all the other cities be if they find Hannover boring, as it is not boring at all.
Like many larger German cities Hannover was bombed and mostly destroyed in the war and has been rebuilt. If you want to see original pre-war Germany, then you can take an easy day-trip to Celle which has been voted as the most beautiful German small town. Also the famous Hameln is an easily doable day-trip.

Hannover was a nice surprise.
Hannover was a nice surprise.
We stayed close to the ZOO and only 1.3 km from the railway station, which meant, we could walk to the city centre.
Very good shopping opportunities and a very nice self-guided walking sight seeing tour around the city.
Nice places to eat.
This property was so beautiful and set the perfect tone for the second city we hit in Germany after Berlin. The staff was very kind at check in and out room was beautiful. Our bathroom was HUGE and the shower and bathtub were incredible. The parking was nice so that we didn't have to worry about street parking and the breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend staying here and wish we had been able to stay longer.
It is right in front of the Hauptbahnhof. Mind you, Hannover Hauptbahnhof is like a shopping mall, with a lot of entrances. If you are able to locate VW tower from the Bahnhof, just go in that direction, and Novotel Suites is right next to it.
The room is comfy and spacious with a shower and a bathtub, TV, complementary tea and coffee, microwave oven, etc. The check-in and out processes are smooth.
All the staff were super friendly, helpful and accomodating our needs, gave great recommendations where to go and what to see as it was our first time in Hannover. The room itself was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel was located very central and close to the main train station, restaurants and coffee shops, it was really convenient to get to many touristy places.
Due to some travel delays, we had to find a hotel on short notice in Hannover. This hotel was a quick walk from and to the airport. We only stayed for a few hours- long enough to shower and have a quick nap before catching our next flight. However, it was clean and comfortable. The price was alright for being convenient and close to the airport.
I only needed this hotel for one night rest and didn’t have any intention to visit Hannover or its surroundings.
I arrived after 8 and left before 8 in the morning, so no contact at all with employees except for the breakfast, which was good.
In a few words, the hotel did its job.
They are a very nice hotel run by a beautiful family, very helpful and friendly, I’d recommend this to anyone traveling to hannover on a budget and looking for a friendly hotel experience. Location is very central, close to the city center, good restaurants and some nice walks.
we stayed for one night and the room was so much more than we imagined. it was meant to be a single night stay over and the room, bed and breakfast were perfect. the service we received from the staff at breakfast and checkout were so friendly, it wasn’t regular in Germany
The location was close to the city center and easily reachable from central train station.
Although we didn't spend much in the hotel and we were out most of the time, staff were friendly and helpful. In total, the room was comfortable with a great amount of sunshine.
Nice hotel which was built just recently. Small room but that was OK because it was well organized. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. They used "Du" (You) which does not matter for me, that is standard in Sweden, but very strange in Germany. Just some "fun fact".
Such a brilliant stay- the most welcoming reception team, spotless and comfortable hotel and a brilliant breakfast - it was great value for money, I had a brilliant sleep too which is rare on work trips- big thanks to the Hannover team I’ll definitely book again
The room was spacious clean and antique, the whole hotel had a uique design. The lady receptionist could speak good international language and she was smiling and welcoming. The breakfast had a fair buffet selection
it was quiet and fairly conveniently located to the main station. It was a great experience for the standard rate. A good value... unfortuantly I visited during the big Industrial Expo and so the hotel room....
location is great. Nice and large room. Very good breakfast. The stuff are so helpful and nice. This is our favourite hotel in Hannover and we come back again and again.
Fantastic property at a very accessible location in Hannover. The service staff is all very friendly and helpful with nice recommendations to spend the evening.
