I visited Portsaid 5 years ago and the city wasn't in it's best condition. But really this visit was different. The streets are clean and well maintained, the variety of restaurants and coffeeshops is nice.
Little tip, the beach in Port Fouad is much nicer and relaxing than Portsaid and the view of the ships entering the open sea is amazing.
I don't recommend sho

This is not ancient Egypt and some parts of the city can appear very run down, especially the commercial area of downtown, so it takes a short while to get used too. However, the endless deep sandy beach with no end of cafes and beach facilities is what makes this a centre of domestic tourism. Also, the beach road strip is full of great food options - the De Lesseps Avenue is a row of food outlets in shipping containers - very industrial chic. The town itself has very smart parks which are lively and buzzy especially in the evening and no end of magnificant churches and mosques. Also, the amazing late 19C wooden balconied tenaments that characterise the downtown area are amazing, if appearing to be on the verge of collapse. The continuous ferry service, free, no wait time, to get across to Port Faoud is a must, the lovely villas and cottages built for the canal workers make for a great stroll. The Famous Canal Port Office is inaccessible and under major restoration and the lighthouse cannot be visited, but these along with more quirky architecture can be still be seen. As I say, not ancient and certainly a little odd, but well worth a visit if you check out what to see and read up a bit before you arrive.

The hotel we stayed in was beautiful with spacious rooms . The fact that it is located right in the middle of the city had its own advantages; we had ease of access to the tourist attractions and shopping areas. The staff are super friendly and super helpful especially the staff at the reception. We had breakfast at the hotel which though satisfactory, could do with more variety. There are several fast food joints but we could have wished for more local cuisine.
The cabs are super efficient with standard charges; no hiking of fares for foreigners detected. We visited the salt mountain in Port Fuad, used the ferry which is free. Went to the lake with flamingoes and also visited the amazing St. Marks Church. We chanced on a second hand market opposite the fish market selling amazing stuff.
Port Said is clean, organized and unique .
All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would most certainly visit Port Said again.

It is a wonderful city needs more staying but the price of rooms are higher than the same stars in Cairo as I spent 3 days in Cairo and paid 450 LE per night and there was internet in the room and good view from window.
the hotel is very quiet and clean, the area around swimming pool is very spacious and comfortable, it was also perfect for seating at night. staff are vet friendly and helpful. special thanks to Reception staff, he was very friendly and cooperative during check in and at the next day another gentleman from reception assisted me in a change to the reservation which was done very smoothly and professionally.
the general atmosphere of the hotel is cool, relaxing and comfort.
the beach is under enhancement but still can be used.
Loved this historic hotel. We paid extra for a triple room 207 which had two balconies. Worth it for the extra space too. We even spotted a tanker one morning through the window. Staff were lovely and we managed with translator. Yes the floor boards are creaky but it has character. Nice place to sit downstairs or outside and have coffee and breakfast of falafel, bread, cheeses, beans
Nice little takeaway falafel place down the road and a 3 min walk to the sea. I was able to get hot water for my coffee downstairs.
We had a fantastic stay here, the staff exceeded our expectations on every dimension. It was cold, so the staff had informed us that we could request a heater. We had some issues so they swapped it out immediately, but then called 15 minutes later to ensure that the new heater was working. The follow up was unexpected and appreciated. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was also varied and trays were always full, food was delicious. Would recommend to anyone!
It is not my first time here in Port said and although I checked in before in one of high priced hotel , but really I enjoyed my staying in Panorama Hotel
In terms of cleanliness from start of check in you can smell detol and cleanliness of the floor and rooms
Welcome from the staff and even from the owner himself who ensured the comfort and satisfaction of the customer
I like my experience there and it won’t be the last isAllah
For those who like spending time and staying up late at night in a variety of cafes, malls and recreational parks, Al Jawhara Hotel will be your preferred choice, with its privileged location within one of the most beautiful and famous streets of Port Said. The one for high class shopping areas.
I had a fantastic stay at this modern, clean, and comfortable flat-hotel. It was fully equipped, felt like home, and located in a secure area with access to a swimming pool and private beach. Special thanks to the very kind owner. Highly recommended!
The location of the hotel was amazing, just in the middle of the city and directly in front of the Canal where you can enjoy the view of the ships and the calm water.
The breakfast was nice, has all the basic needs with continuous refill.
Mr. Mohammed, the owner, is very nice, friendly and welcoming, he made us feel very welcome .
Room , living room and kitchen are very clean
The location is ok and there is restaurant and café around the Helnan hotel .
I liked everything in the hotel. The staff was really really friendly and very welcoming. Mr Mostafa and bassem made sure all our requirements were delivered and gave us the best stay.
I like that it is the only one of two hotels in port said that you can stay with a minimum definition of being in a two or one star hotel .. the rest is far below ..
A one star hotel. Or minus. Everything was below expectations
The one star is for location and view
They had a wheel chair for grandpa
Good padel court
Everything is OK, the hotel is very clean ,near to the sea , all staff were friendly and helpful, especially Mr. Award and misses working in reception.
