Hosts were really lovely, helpful and accommodating (especially for a muddy cyclist). Real thoughtful touches including a well stocked bathroom and bedroom.
Great location near end of Formartine and Buchan Way and near town centre.

Room was great, hosts was friendly and very welcoming, pool and hot tub was well worth the money on its own.
Lots to do. We very much enjoyed the prison museum although it was very cold inside the prison. The super trawlers at Fraserburgh are worth a visit and it was good to see the seals at Newburgh and the kids loved playing in the sand dunes.
One evening we had dinner at the Seaview Hotel at Boddam which was excellent and would definitely recommend. We hadn't booked and felt lucky to get in (on a Monday in February) as it was very busy. The children's meals were beautifully presented.

It's a bigger town than we realised.
It's a bigger town than we realised. Decent options for things like fast food and supermarkets (retail park) for a town of this size t.b.f. not a great selection of restaurants we used KFC & Marston springs hotel there however there was an indians in town otherwise it was mostly cafes that were closed in the evenings and some restaurants closed all day on Monday/Tuesdays. There were plenty of pubs but Wetherspoons is easily the cheapest for food/drink if your not looking for entertainment or upmarket grub. The local golf course is fantastic particularly the middle and finishing stretch of holes. It's a bit of a trek from the car park to the clubhouse however. We found taking a few back roads out of Peterhead towards Aberdeen westwards was a good deal quieter than the main road, especially if there are roadworks due to the sheer volume of traffic using this road and especially in the evenings where people were returning from the aberdeen city area at tea time/drive time.

Lots of good places to see around the area.
Lots of good places to see around the area. The Prison is a must for a great experience. Lovely beaches in the area too. Seal Beach is a must but needs a small strenuous walk over sand dunes to get to it.

I liked the Peterhead prison tour.
I liked the Peterhead prison tour. Other than that it’s a very quite little town would like a visit myself or with other adults but found it quite hard to entertain my 15year old daughter. We found ourselfs driving around the country roads which are are lovely and plenty of them lol

Peterhead is a town like so many others that have seen the demise of many shops. It is not a pretty town, very much a working town, dominated by the fishing port. Plentiful parking. However, there a lot of interesting places in the area, golf, castles, beaches, wonderful fish and chips to name a few. Did not eat in Peterhead this time so no comments for this.

My first impression of Peterhead is that is like a piece of Russia in Scotland. The dour, grey buildings are in some cases reminding me of Communist architecture. Nevertheless, this is not a bad town. I was here primarily to walk the Formartine and Buchan Way, which uses the former railway trackbed from Aberdeen (Dyce) to Peterhead and Fraserburgh via Maud Junction. I have walked about 55 miles in 4 days, and Peterhead makes a convenient base with good bus services to Ellon, Mintlaw and Fraserburgh.
The Dolphin Cafe in the harbour area proved well worth a visit - excellent fish and chips. Well priced and friendly staff.
This is our second trip to the Hayloft as a family and it wont we our last. Love this place, its like a home from home. Plenty of amenities and personal little touches (like the welcome hamper) from the hosts who are lovely.
Great big country park on the doorstep which was excellent for walking our dogs. Close to plenty of tourist attractions like Peterhead prison, Slains Castle, Seal beach, Ellon (Brewdog), Fraserburgh (bowling) and also other beauty spots such as Crovie/Gardenstown/Pennan and St Combs beach.
Peterhead does not exactly look like a nice and joyous place and this guesthouse fits perfectly in the town. There is basically no staff, the only human contact you get is via a speakerphone, where you get confirmed that you may come in, then find your key in an envelope and that's it. Checkout is exactly the same, except there's no speakerphone, you just leave after placing your key into a box.
The room is a good size and so is the bed.
That is pretty much it as far as the positives are concerned.
This was my second time staying at Crawfords Guest House and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Peterhead. Staying at Crawfords feels like home away from home. It is immaculately clean and welcoming. The bed is comfortable, the guest house is quiet. The wi-fi works perfectly. The breakfast is outstanding with loads of fresh fruit and home made food. I was there on business and Crawfords breakfast sustained me for the entire day. I can't wait to return to Peterhead and Crawfords!
Mary . Amazing women and owner. Yes we was in hotel but I was feeling like home ,very welcome atmosphere and for that huge thank you Mary. Room sparkly clean. Beautiful big bathroom. I know I will be back and not once. We very enjoyed pool and jacuzzi. If somebody reading this review and still thinking going in Browns hotel or not JUST GO , YOU NOT WILL BE DISAPPOINTED
A smal traditionall hotel in a very good location in the attractive town of Peterhead. The food service both for evening meal and breakfast was exceptional in both quality overall and attention to detail. The room was also exceptional for being spacious and comfortable, with good ensuite bathroom/shower included. I certainly hope to stay again at some point.
very clean , excellent facilities , gym and swimming pool very good . sauna steam room exceptional . when you are treated like an old friend . it says it all . I stay regularly at many 4-5* hotels .The staff make or break a place . The staff here under the leadership of James deserves much merit . Bravo 👏🏼
The flat is ideally located for access to Peterhead with the Lido literally a stones throw away. The flat is very well finished and the host can't do enough to help and answered all queries really quickly. The kitchen is very well set out and everything is spotless and we will definitely be back again.
Room obtained everything that what was described on the website, Shower was excellent and room was cleaned daily, staff very pleasant and go out of their way to be very helpful. I booked this stay for work (7 days) it was cheap but pleasant. Wifi was good, I didn't require breakfast so cannot comment
Extremely delighted with the ladies hospitality.
We booked last minute however nothing was a problem at all
Room was fantastic and exceeded our expectations
Perfectly clean and comfortable
If we are back in the area we would definitely book again
Mary was just the perfect host and was made welcome on entering until leaving.
Nothing was a problem to her and the place was spotless.
Cannot recommend this place enough.
Wish you and the family a very merry Christmas and the b st new year ❤️xx
The hotel is in a great, central position in Peterhead. There is ample parking in the hotel grounds and just opposite. The hotel room we had was very comfortable and spacious and the food served in the lovely upstairs restaurant was excellent.
The price was great!
The room was good.
Having access to a kitchen was useful.
If you need to be in Peterhead the location is central, it's convenient.
Peterhead Prison Museum and RSPB Loch of Strathbeg were nice.
its so easy and accessible to get to harbour springs , its just outside peterhead , so no need to go into the centre of town , there is a mcdonalds and a kfc and petrol station just next door and across the road ,
Beautiful view. But the best aspect of the Seaview Hotel is, by far, the amazing staff and the phenomenal food!!!
Amazing Chefs, and incredibly friendly, helpful staff.
