Very clean. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Free and secure self storage lockers, including very large bags, which was great since we had an afternoon flight and could keep them there while we went to the pool. Also a shower/bathroom directly by lockers so you can change before your flight. Also a VERY small gym down there.
Ample breakfast which rotated dishes. Eggs of many varieties, meat, cheeses, vegetables, fruit, cereal, pastries, all the usual beams/potatoes/mushrooms most days (rotation). Plenty of options for vegetarians. Husband said the sausages were still slightly cold in the center one AM and we were there shortly after opening. The breakfast staff was wonderful and did a great job.
Great connections and restaurants in the area. 10’ walk to the ferry to Valetta.
Access to the pool/lido just across the street which is nice to lounge at (€30 for a day pas normally, free for guests). Also access to the sister properties pools (at least one rooftop).
Lifestyle Hotel positioned in the lively district of Paceville, St. Julian’s. Set against the breath-taking backdrop of St. George’s Bay, the hotel is surrounded with bars, nightclubs & restaurants.
The town itself looks nothing special. I liked that it was close to the main towns we went to and that was very convenient. There is convenient transportation, a store, places to eat breakfast and the price of our hotel was great.

Central and easy access to several bus lines. Good restaurants close to the hotel. Taʼ Xbiex offers a normal daily life with nice local inhabitants in the surroundings, i.e. ideal for anybody who prefers not to be confronted with overcrowed and loud touristic areas.

During our stay at Johnny M we intentionally stayed only onboard. However I know the area very well. It is in the center of Malta and you may reach anywhere by car and also by public transport. There is a great relaxing walk on the promenade on both sides of the yacht. on one side there is an area with rocky beach where you may relax and swim in clear blue sea. Lots of good restaurants surround the area and there are a lot of bars for all type of people. Johnny M cannot be in a better place.

Ta’ Xbiex was a good location to be based and was really nice and vibrant in the evening with restaurants around the harbour. Easy buses to and from Valletta, felt safe, comfortable and the weather was brilliant! Mamma Mia being a good place to eat for some local cuisine and would recommend visiting the lovely island of Gozo and the Blue Lagoon! Chilled, not much a night life but would love to go back. Good place to for a couples break lots to do and see :)

The hotel was 100 yards from the harbour from where you could walk to lovely restaurants. Thirty minutes from Sliema and Forty Five minutes from Valletta, (walking). Buses makes it easier at 2 Euro's a trip, whatever the destination. We bought a 12 journey card for 15 euro's which lasted us the time we were there.

Chapter 5 is a fine Boutique hotel for a budget tour of Malta. It is clean, quiet, near shops and restaurants and bus stops to all parts of Malta. Valletta is a must visit especially St John's Co-Cathedral. Near the hotel we like the Indian restaurant, the Pasta & Co restaurant the Busy Bee, and Uncle Matts Kitchen.
Don't miss Mosta and the beautiful Church which was bombed with no loss of life during WW2. The bomb is still there! Gozo is easy from Ta xbiex too. All in all a great week in a great little hotel.
