This and the Ticino card provided by hotel allowed us to take numerous day trips, and even go down to Lugano and back for dinner. Few minutes walk to lake, but don't stay here if you want a balcony and lake view. Good breakfast and helpful staff.

Set on the lakeshore promenade of Lake Maggiore, Hotel Geranio Au Lac is only 100 metres from the Locarno Train Station and the city centre. It offers a breakfast buffet. I love this hotel. I've stayed twice, once as a solo traveler and once with my sister, visiting me from the USA. The hotel is in an amazing location, with the waterfront on one side and a shortcut to the train station on the other. Restaurants, coffee shops and gelato are just next door. The rooms are minimalist. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is great, and I love that cappuccino, hot chocolate and vending machines are available at all times on the second floor. The staff was fantastic, each time.

Hotel Alexandra ligger i en villa fra århundredeskiftet, blot 10 minutters gang fra Locarnos bymidte. Der serveres middelhavsretter. Alexandra Hotel serverer en stor morgenbuffet hver dag. Amazing staff and very good value for money. Close to city center, quiet area, decent parking and very good price.

@ Home Hotel Locarno ligger centralt i Locarno, 5 minutters gang fra Maggiore-søen, Piazza Grande og Muralto Locarno Station. Everything!the hosts: Cinzia and Nadia were exceptionally friendly and helpful. the communication was easy and quick. we were travelling with our son and when we came to the hotel , we were very pleasantly surprised that our room was upgraded for a bigger one free of charge. we were also given a code for an online Ticino ticket that allows you to use public transport free of charge and get discounts at most sights. the location: is great -a 5-7-minute walk to the lake and to the main square.it also takes about 5-7 minutes to walk to the funicular Orselina, to cable cars and chair lifts Cardada-Cimetta. breakfast : breakfast was tasty , homemade by hosts, with good coffee and different options. rooms: simple but exceptionally clean , with all the basics you need and with a coffee machine in the room. all in all the hotel is a very cosy place with a home-like atmosphere created by the hosts. Definitely a place we would come back to when we travel to Ticino again.

Hotel la Palma au Lac ligger på den smukke søpromenade i Locarno, få skridt fra byens centrum. Samtlige værelser har tv, værdiboks og eget badeværelse. Værelset var stort og lyst. Badeværelset var fantastisk, lækkert og moderne. Sengen står midt i Værelset med blik ud til søen. Dejlig altan med fantastisk udsigt. Var gerne blevet to dage mere, men der var desværre ikke plads til os.

Hotel Rio Garni blev totalrenoveret i 2012 og 2013 og ligger i en villa fra det 19. århundrede, centralt over for Locarno Station og 10 minutters gang fra Piazza Grande. The staff were incredibly helpful and lovely.

Lake shore, boat trips, restaurants, cafes, shops, parks, old town, funicular to Madonna del Sasso, scenic railway to Domodossola all nearby..

Miralago Locarno Easy Rooms ligger i Muralto, blot 50 m fra promenaden ved Maggiore-søen, 500 m fra Locarnos centrum og 200 m fra havnen. Der tilbydes gratis trådløs internetadgang. Wonderful place, extremely friendly staff and perfect location- near to the train station, near to the lake. Just wonderful!!!
