We stayed for 2 nights in the Welbeck apartment, was very quiet and nice. We went for a long hike directly from Hargate Hall in Wormhill for a day in the beautiful nature to Monsal Trail, Tideswell and Monk's Dale in the Peak District.

The room was very comfortable and had everything that we needed in it. It only took us about 10 minutes to walk into central Buxton, where there were plenty of restaurant options. The hosts were absolutely lovely and very accommodating. We were travelling with a one-year-old and they made sure that we had everything we needed, plus were able to give us family-friendly ideas for things to do and places to eat. The breakfast was also delicious! Would definitely stay again!

Everything. Location, comfort, peaceful, accommodating for small children, lots of considerate nice touches to welcome you on arrival. Even created a series of maps for you if you wanted to go for walks. We cannot wait to return.

We stayed in the flat as a family. It is excellent. Very comfortable and with lovely views. Reception staff very helpful. Child friendly. Superb location. Interesting history. I score it 9/10 because of the little things that let it down, such as a broken lock on the bathroom door and the breakfast chef not being able to cook porridge despite two attempts. I would recommend and will stay here again.

Pleasantly surprised with the facilities. Great for families with young children. Changing mat, nappies, kids toys as well family games included, which we were not expecting. Clean and tidy with towels provided too. Good communication with housekeeper before and during stay. Would definitely book again.

Clean and welcoming cottage which was great for our short stay (2 adults, 2 children). Convenient car parking space opposite the cottage. Small children's play area nearby. Loved seeing the horses and chickens next door and meeting the local dogs and cats. Kids also enjoyed watching the fish in the small pond. Excellent communications from owners. Friendly and helpful.

This place is not child friendly. We were unable to have the fire on as it has no surround and our toddler was not able to walk around when on. There was no carbon monoxide alarm which made us anxious to sleep there. We requested a baby cot which was advertised but it was more like a pet carrier where you zipped your baby inside it. We booked three nights but left after two as it was just not relaxing or fun.

Excellent facility for families that want to get away in the Peak District. The kitchen and living room was just what we needed for a short break. The kids loved the single beds on the mezzanine, it made the stay much more fun for them. The grounds and house itself are amazing. The location is good if you have a car.

We felt welcomed since the moment we stepped through the door. Gentlemen at reception even offered to take our bags up. Family friendly - we didn't need a cot but they took into consideration we travelled with a toddler and a cot was waiting for us in the room without asking. Same with breakfast, our daughter was asked for her choices which hardly ever happen in othe hotels. Central location is a big plus as well.
