Chef was Michelin Star quality, we wish we had stayed longer as it was far superior to the other 3 vineyards we stayed in.

Boasting a garden, restaurant and views of mountain, O Abel Hotel rural is set in Bragança, 6.9 km from Braganca Castle. Some units at the property feature a balcony with pool view. Personal welcome from the owner! He is a real host and immediately helped us to feel welcome in what he called 'paradise'. Nice room with a HUGE bathroom. Good breakfast and a very good restaurant which was packed when we were there. Personal attention as well and more than a fair price for an excellent meal. Free and easy parking and worth to stop here and stay for at least 1 night. Close to Branganca and direct on the N218 which is very scenic road to drive along... I can confirm you will feel in paradise!!

Original Douro Hotel nalazi se u mjestu Peso da Régua, na 400 metara od muzeja Douro, a nudi zajednički salon, terasu i pogled na grad. Amazing renovations. Worth every penny. I’ll be back.

Offering a terrace and views of the mountain, Candeias do Souto is located in Bragança in the Norte Region, 9 km from Braganca Castle. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Candelas do Souto is a lovely converted farm house. It has lots of charm from the outside and is modern and clean inside. There are areas inside the property that show parts of the buildings history and old working life. There is a small but beautiful garden at the back of the property that is perfect for relaxing in.

Located in a wine producing estate, on the right bank of Douro River, Quinta De La Rosa is a family owned property, 2 km from Pinhão. Rooms at this working vineyard are spread over several levels. Our visit to Quinta de la Rosa was simply wonderful and far exceeded expectations. Our room was beautiful with stunning views and dinner in the restaurant (on both nights) was outstanding. We had an excellent wine tour/tasting and did some fabulous hikes including right to the top of the estate. Couldn't recommend a visit here more highly.

The 3-star Hotel Albergaria Borges provides modern accommodation in Chaves, just 1.5 km from the city. Incredibly attentive staff. We are travelling with a baby and the staff preemptively helped us all the time without us even asking. They put us in a room at the end of the corridor so we wouldn’t disturb other guests, helped run food to my husband from the restaurant as he stayed in the room with the sleeping baby, and had a table ready for us at breakfast in a separate to the other guests. These actions just took all the stress out of our stay and shows how attentive the staff are to the customers and do things without it even needing to be asked. Thank you so much for the team to make it a hassle free stay.

Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. Breakfast was lovely with fresh juice, pastries and fruit. We were also sent away with extra slices of cake and fruit for our journey! We also had dinner there and nothing was too much. The food was excellent but was clearly prepared just for us and made it even more special with all the beams and vineyard features such as barrels in the reception and dining room. The bedroom was very cosy and the bed was extremely comfy and bathroom with a bath was excellent. The room was very large and had lots of features to make us feel like we were in the vineyard. The best bit was when we arrived and we were greeted by the family with glasses of port from their vineyard for free before sitting by a toasty fire to warm up - perfect welcome!!
