The location is very accessible and the lobby is very romantic especially having coffee in the morning while watching the scenic view of sunrise with the glittering snow and white mountains. The property owner was very courteous, hospitable, and accomodating. They can speak and understand english very well. Highly recommendable. It's such a nice place.

Only a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Station, K's House Takayama Oasis offers free WiFi throughout the property. The beds were really comfortable. I also enjoyed the capsule style rooms. It felt quite private with the curtain closed. After a chilly day outside, the hostel itself was an all around cozy place to come back to. It also had a really convenient location near the station, a convenience store, and some restaurants.

Sakura Guest House is a 10-minute walk from Hida Takayama-mura Folk Village, and offers private and dormitory rooms with free Wi-Fi and shared bathrooms. Nice space outside of the city center. Lots of space to hang out and relax, huge kitchen and outdoor relaxing area, close to bus stop.

Featuring a shared lounge, Hostel Miyagawa by Murasaki Ryokan is located in the centre of Takayama, less than 1 km from Takayama Station. Loved the typical Japanese room and the location, everything was very clean! Staff was very nice and the beds were one of the most comfortable I had in Japan. They have complementary umbrellas, tea, coffee and some sweets and snacks.

Boasting spacious hot spring baths for a fee, Natural Onsen Hostel Hidamari no Yu is hostel accommodation located in Takayama. The place is really good, and the onsen is very nice, The staff is very nice and helpful, There is not a close bus station but they provide shuttle to takayama station, We really enjoyed our stay!
