I enjoyed my short time at Kotohira a lot and a huge reason for that was the friendly and relaxed atmosphere at the guesthouse. The host (heart and soul of this traditional house in central location) is a bubbly and passionate traveller himself that has seen so many places in Japan and around the world. He is really interested in your own experiences while you travel in the region and he can give you a lot of recommendations. Even though this guest house is in the north of Shikoku, he provided me with travel and commuting advices for Hokkaido. And: I loved the traditional house in central but quiet location. My roomy female dormitory (for 2 people) was lovely decorated. It felt a bit like in a treasure museum. The bath facilities are modern and the kitchen is well equipped (free coffee). So, if you wanna stay in a friendly place where you can recharge travel energy and get freshly inspired, pick this guest house.

Quiet place with easy access to nearby walking covered shopping, restaurant street. Will certainly be visiting this place again in my near future and special thanks to the host who had giving us lots of guidance on the local attraction!
