Located in Nagaoka, 15 km from Hikone Castle, Guesthouse Izame Ann provides accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a shared lounge and a bar. Such a nice gem this place. Perfectly organised by the owner who makes great food too! (On reservation) The village is lovely and from our room we could see the little stream that flows through town. Also go and see the shrine, it has a nice set-up and a great look out over the village. We can highly recommend this place!

ゲストハウスでたらめ荘 has free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and bar in Yamakami. I had a really great time in this place, thanks to Konbu, Michi and Egosan who are amazing hosts. I was looking for a place to stay for a few days to do nothing but rest and this place was perfect. I really felt at home, the living room was my lair. There is a grocery store 15 minutes by walk but to be fair I didnt go there since you can ask Egosan to cook for you (1000 ¥/meal). And let me tell you that he is a great cook. On the first evening he asked me what is my favorite Japanese dish and he made it the following day ! Since I was the only customer during my stay we spend time together, they even bring me with them to go to a good local restaurant and then they surprised me by going to a bakery since I said I wanted to try Japanese dessert. Once again, I had a really great time !

Located in Hikone, 1.7 km from Hikone Castle, GUEST HOUSE NAGORIYA provides accommodation with a bar and free private parking. Hikone is so enjoyable. I borrowed a bicycle free of charge, and it was amazing to cycle around the lake, castle and downtown.

Located in Minami-komatsu, 24 km from Sanzen-in Temple, Biwa-Lakeside Cottage B B Dylan provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. We loved how accomodating and nice the staff were they were always making sure the space/ our room was tidy and neat and provided us with fresh linen, towels and robes daily. They cooked us meals and treated us like family! The location is beautiful right on the lake with amazing sunrises and sunsets and just a short 10 minuet walk to the station or a 15 minuet walk to 711. We honestly can’t fault anything about this property and can’t wait to stay again!

GYPSY TAKASHIMA has free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Katsuno. The property is around 33 km from Sanzen-in Temple, 40 km from Ruriko-in Temple and 42 km from Enryaku-ji Temple. The environment is very comfort, offer everything you need, and the holder is so kind and helpful, I’ll choose here again if I came back to Takashima!
