I arrived late at night and he stayed up to welcome me, gave me a free beer after an exhausting day, and we had a lovely chat. The location is beautiful - right on the sea front and the sound of the waves coming in and out is really soothing. Celio also provided a lot of free breakfast foods which was very much appreciated, and one can eat out on the terrace by the waves in the sun. The parking is right near the property, which is helpful, and the town of Sao Vicente is only less than five minutes' drive away, and has a supermarket, restaurants, etc. Wifi was good, room was comfortable and well-proportioned (for one guest at least), and the price is unbeatable! Again, I can't overstate (i) the relaxing sound of the waves, and (ii) how great a host Celio is. Thank you Celio!

Situated in Machico, 200 metres from Sao Roque Beach, Modern & Recycled Guest House features views of the city. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The hostel also features free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. I really recommend this accommodation. I had the Buddha room which is very nice looking. The room was very clean aswell. The owner Ruben is very friendly and helpfull, he had some nice recommendations about where to eat and he knows a lot about Madeira and the best spots to visit.

Guests that wish to have more privacy may stay in double or twin rooms. 29 Madeira hostel is a lovely, clean and comfortable hostel with a unique style. I loved the patio and met great people there. The staff is helpful and friendly. I recommend ear plugs for the night as there are cars passing and the walls are thin. The hostel guests behaved very respectful when I was there so I slept very well.

Steps away from restaurants and the market, as well as cable car. Clear check in instructions were given if arriving late. Had a kitchen, several bathrooms, seating area etc. bed room had lockers and locks provided. Wi-Fi worked well. The staff were friendly. The hostel itself seemed to be a historic building and had cool design.
