The staff were incredibly kind and made us feel that nothing was too much! Nicola the manager made us feel right at home. The property was period so it may seem outdated to others but we loved the historical side of the B&B. We loved the food (both dinner and breakfast) - the burger on the menu was to die for! We were part of a wedding party and felt awful for setting their fire alarm first thing in the morning due to steaming a dress, they were so lovely about it and saw the funny side. I even had a call when I got home to learn that I had left a cheap necklace in the room and they were going to send it to me via post. I would certainly stay here again! Thank you to the team there!

Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast daily and great venison steak for dinner. Large very comfortable bed and unusually good pillows to top it off. Not like some of the rocks we have encountered . Good spacious room.

We expected the Castle of Comfort to be a country house hotel, which it is not. It is a former pub set back from a fairly busy road. However, it has been beautifully converted into a most comfortable hotel with much thought having been put into every detail. The lounge bar is a pleasant place to sit after a day out. The dinner menu is interesting and the food is excellent. The swimming pool had closed for the winter but the grounds are pleasant. The staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed for three nights and would happily return.

Bedroom was very clean and spacious with everything needed. Easy access to car park. Food available in pub is very tasty and freshly cooked. Try some of the specials which are innovative and beautifully presented. Ideal for visiting Coleridge's cottage across the road.

Very nice, helpful owners. Rustic, old style cottage on two floors. Two good sized bedrooms and a modern bathroom with decent shower. A few books and board games and a small flat screen TV. Well located for exploring the area and even into Devon. Lovely large garden. Plenty of parking space.

Very friendly staff and nothing too much trouble. They even helped us pre order food on the way down as we were running late and could have missed the restaurant. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Towels in the room beautiful and fluffy. Great tea and coffee and biscuits.

Checking in was super easy and the room is a very good size especially when compared to some chain hotel rooms. The bathroom especially was large and clean. Dinner in the pub restaurant was great. Your normal pub food but also some great specials which looked very good. My cod and chips was well cooked. It’s also next to a public path giving access to the Coast and Castles walk so ideal for getting out into the country side.
