This is a very moving site. It will leave you in awe.

This is a very moving site. It will leave you in awe. You can not walk around the stones, but they are very large. You will soon feel the importance to this Stone Ring, that you will not want to disturb it by walking all around the stones.

    Very impressive.

Very impressive. I passed by 30 years ago on a tour and we didn’t stop, so we made up for it by coming here twice. It is a mile and a half walk from the public bus that connects Kirkwell and Stromness that runs frequently. An occasional bus runs directly passed it.(like three days a week.)

It was an amazing thing to see but very disappointed that we couldn't walk up to the stones. There was a locked gate preventing people because they say they were preserving the grass pathway, but don't understand why they can't put something over it like they have at other sites. It made Stenness a much more attractive option.
